As with many early-stage companies, in the very beginning at SimplyAgree we leaned on developing deep relationships with our customers to compensate for some of the (many?) limitations of the first versions of our closing tool. But as our platform evolved—and those shortcomings were addressed—we realized that the relationships we had developed out of necessity actually did something incredible: they built trust. Real trust. The kind that meant when the closing was on the line, our users knew without asking that we would be there to make sure they got it over the finish line. And for those who work closely with attorneys, you know that's no easy feat. So as our product matured, rather than transition to an automated support process because we could, we doubled down on individual support and investing our time into user relationships. There are certainly times in our journey as a company we could have zigged instead of zagged, but the decision to bring in team members like Alex Chiang, Amanda Feldman, Spencer Smith, Valeria de la Torre, Abby Clark and Mariah Cline who are hands on with users every day is not one of them. Building trust with deal teams is our first priority, and I am hopeful those relationships are as meaningful to our clients as they are to us.

This past Tuesday, Drew Johnson led a webinar on specific ways law firms can vet technology vendors’ post-sales approach to customer success. It’s a hairy topic, but the gist is: 1. Don’t be afraid to ask sticky questions—like an example of a time a firm like yours didn’t experience success with the tool, or for examples of support ticket responses. 2. Work with the vendor to set realistic—rather than extreme—expectations for post-sale adoption to rally your team around. 3. Ask the vendor questions like, “if we don’t experience this success within a year, what do you think the reasons for that might be?” We chose to release this webinar because strong post-sales partnerships are what set SimplyAgree apart in the closing management space, and are what we credit our adoption success to. This is just one example of the results experienced by an AmLaw 200 firm: over the course of their six-year relationship with SimplyAgree, 114 users at one firm have closed over 1,019 deals in the tool, saving an estimated $2,500,000+ in post-close write offs. #iltacon2024 #legaltech
