I'm so proud to announce the launch of the Collective Punishment Campaign, a project I've been deeply honoured to be a part of. Alongside Hasadri Freeman and her beautiful illustrations, we've developed the visual identity of the campaign, with which I've designed and built the website. The Collective Punishment Campaign's mission is to address the devastating impact of parental imprisonment on families and children across the United Kingdom. We firmly believe that punishment for the actions of others isn't justifiable. Our campaign is founded and led by individuals who have personally experienced the profound effects of parental imprisonment. We are committed to fighting against this unjust practice. Our website is a platform which serves as an information hub, compiling lived experiences, resources, and support for those affected. It offers an array of services, including in-depth research and analysis, shedding light on the impact of parental imprisonment, spanning psychological, emotional, and societal dimensions. Here's the answer to yesterday's trivia question: 👉 In 1977, Superior Court Judge David Soukup found himself making decisions about children's placements and wanted more information from the child's perspective. His idea to solve the problem was simple, but has been highly effective over four decades later. He thought that if each child in the dependency system had a special, trained volunteer advocate appointed to them, who checked in regularly, that advocate could become the child's voice in court.
