Volunteering is powerful because it has a profound effect on our lives. When we volunteer, we meet people in circumstances different from our own. We develop greater empathy and learn what it means to walk in the shoes of others, and to be responsible for our fellow citizens. This binds us. This makes us a stronger and more united people. Ministry of Social and Family Development, Singapore (MSF) has just launched their roving Volunteer Festival to share more about volunteering and the many opportunities to do so. I hope this will encourage more of us to step forward. Whatever our experience or backgrounds, we can all volunteer and help to build a better Singapore. Thank you, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, for your fervent advocacy of volunteerism. Your steadfast dedication to this noble cause serves as a guiding light for us all. The inclusion of Singapore Red Cross and Volunteer Leader Edgardo Vicente in the photo is truly heartening and reinforces the significant impact of volunteer work. Firmly believing that volunteerism is the bedrock of a compassionate and united society, your words strike a chord with me and countless volunteers, reigniting our passion for this noble pursuit. Let us, united in purpose, continue to plant the seeds of positive change and forge a brighter future for Singapore through the transformative power of volunteerism. For those keen to embark on this rewarding journey, please consider signing up as a volunteer at volunteer.redcross.sg. Together, let's make a difference that echoes far and wide.
Excellent comments on volunteering which will inspire others to volunteer with conviction
👍🥰 Thank you Singapore Red Cross Society and all the volunteers. Formally from their HR team, now I am still involved in their initiatives. The MSF's Volunteer Festival starts this weekend and I hope more people can bring their friends especially youths to assume volunteer roles. There are so many opportunities provided for us now. Thank you Mr Lawrence Wong for highlighting and sharing 🤝 Lawrence Wong

The Singapore I love! Respect and kudos! The volunteers need to be rewarded! How about a tax break, additional vouchers, or discounts for food, entertainment or travel.? We must ensure they are not taken for granted. And others are encouraged to volunteer. 🙏💕🇸🇬 Thank you.🙏🇸🇬 Copying Our SG – Home of Forward SG PM Lawrence Wong and the People's Action Party
Volunteering is one of the best thing I enjoy in life. I give my time for volunteering how much ever I can. ( there is no monetary reward though) ofcourse there are non tangible benefits that keeps you happier every time you volunteer
Volunteering on a pro-bono basis allow me to give back to society and meet like minded persons to making Singapore a better place.

4dVolunteering indeed has a profound impact, bridging diverse experiences and fostering empathy. It's through volunteering that we connect with different communities, gaining insights into their challenges and joys. This shared responsibility strengthens our social fabric, uniting us toward common goals. The Ministry of Social and Family Development's initiative to promote volunteering through the roving Volunteer Festival is commendable. It encourages everyone, regardless of background or experience, to contribute meaningfully to Singapore's community. By volunteering, we not only enrich others' lives but also cultivate a sense of belonging and empowerment within ourselves, contributing to a more cohesive and compassionate society.
