Deep Instinct Secures $30 Million from Structural Capital to Fuel Growth
MENLO PARK, CA – May 6, 2024 – Structural Capital, a strategic growth company that partners with innovative and differentiated technology companies for their capital needs, is pleased to announce a $30 million growth investment in Deep Instinct, a leader in AI-driven cybersecurity solutions. This funding will accelerate the development and innovation of its industry-leading, deep-learning-based Predictive Prevention Platform, which prevents threats, including ransomware and other malware, from landing in storage, applications, or endpoint environments.
The platform’s newest addition, Deep Instinct Prevention for Storage (DPS), actively scans enterprise cloud and network-attached storage (NAS) environments to block and eliminate malware, addressing a significant gap left by conventional cybersecurity tools. In addition, Deep Instinct just announced DIANNA, the first generative AI-powered cybersecurity assistant to provide expert-level malware analysis for unknown threats.
“As we accelerate the growth of our business, the investment from Structural Capital allows us to expand our AI-based advantage in preventing malware without diluting existing shareholders. Structural is uniquely connected to our industry and will be an extremely valuable partner and advisor in our growth journey,” said Lane Bess, CEO of Deep Instinct. “As the generative AI landscape becomes more complex, this capital expands our global execution capability, allowing enterprises worldwide to integrate the most sophisticated cyber threat prevention technology.”
“Supporting companies like Deep Instinct, which set the standard for innovation, aligns perfectly with our mission,” said Atul Tiwary, Principal at Structural Capital. “Deep Instinct’s deep learning-based approach to cybersecurity is reshaping how enterprises counter sophisticated cyber threats. We are excited to support their growth trajectory and ongoing impact on the cybersecurity landscape.”
“This marks Structural Capital’s first investment in the cybersecurity sector, an area we view as critical and plan to continue investing in heavily,” said Kai Tse, CIO of Structural Capital. “Our commitment to Deep Instinct underscores our belief in the transformative potential of AI in cybersecurity and our strategy to bolster innovation in this vital industry.”
Deep Instinct is backed by prominent investors, including BlackRock, Chrysalis Investments, Millennium Technology Value Partners, and Unbound, amongst others. The company will leverage the capital to fuel growth. This financial backing strongly endorses Deep Instinct’s vision and strategy, providing essential resources for product enhancement, operational scaling, and market expansion. As cyber threats evolve, investments in pioneering technologies such as those developed by Deep Instinct are vital for advancing global cybersecurity measures.
