Leap Group agencies will be closed today to celebrate Juneteenth, a federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery on June 19, 1865. While our country has come a long way, we know there are still many opportunities to create a more just and equitable society for all. That’s why we implemented a robust, data-informed IE&D roadmap to create more diverse, equitable, and inclusive experiences and work at Leap. As LGBTQ+ owned and women-owned businesses, we’ve always known that the diverse voices and perspectives that make up our group are what drive us to be most creative and impactful. We’re passionately committed to making our workplaces – both virtual and in-person – welcoming, safe and inclusive spaces where everyone feels empowered to do their best work. (And have fun doing it, too!) #Juneteenth #DEI #WorkplaceDiversity #AdvertisingAgency #DigitalAgency #DiversityInAdvertising #DiversityInMarketing

We believe everyone should be able to be themselves at work - that’s why we’re proud to support “Mutual Pride” one of our Employee Network Groups. The group aims to raise visibility and awareness of the LGBTQ+ community, their experiences and history, and issues they may face. The group is open to all staff including homeworkers, advocates, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. The group aims to: • Connect LGBTQ+ NFU Mutual employees and allies to provide support, networking and social opportunities. • Promoting issues, awareness and celebrations. • Provide a connection point, signposting available resources and identifying where additional resources are required. • Give employees the confidence to engage with one another without any barriers. • Empower employees to bring their whole selves to work. We recently spoke with our Co-chairs Becky and Scott and asked them how Mutual Pride has made an impact at NFU Mutual. #NFUMutual #FinancialServices #MutualPride #GreatPlacetoWork #DiversityAndInclusion

46% of the world’s population experienced some form of discrimination in the past year. Let that sink in for a moment, 46%! That is almost half of your employees, your customers, your friends, your professional network. Those with disabilities and LGBTQ+ individuals report even higher rates of discrimination (81% and 62% respectively). Employers, there is still so much more we need to do to make the world of work a fairer and more equitable place, for everyone. Let us know if we can help. #diversity #inclusion #DEI #employeewellbeing #discrimination Source: https://lnkd.in/ezr2UiKm

It’s National Coming Out Day. For many, coming out isn’t a one-time thing. Every new job, every service accessed, every holiday booked, brings both opportunity and risk. We know that over a third of LGBTQ+ staff in Britain have hidden that they are LGBTQ+ at work because they were afraid of discrimination. In healthcare, almost one in four LGBTQ+ people (23%) have witnessed anti-LGBT remarks by healthcare staff. One in seven have avoided treatment for fear of discrimination. The HRA is a place where our staff and our community know that we value them, just as they are. We try to keep conversations alive across the organisation to ensure that LGBTQ+ identities, needs and contributions are always on the agenda, in work, and in health and social care research. #NationalComingOutDay

How can we design our public spaces to be more inclusive of and safe for LGBTQ+ communities? In collaboration with the University of Westminster, we've been part of an ongoing research project called Queering Public Space. We need your help by completing an online survey: https://lnkd.in/eg_RMUAt The survey will take roughly 10-15 minutes in total and is split into two sections: - The first section asks about your perception of safe and inclusive spaces, as well as your preferences of public spaces. So that we can analyse inclusion through an intersectional lens, we will also collect anonymised demographic information as well. - The second section features six 360° environments where you can listen and pan around a public space. By double clicking on a spot on the environment, you will be able to leave comments about the space. If you're interested to learn more, you can read our report from the first phase of our research here: https://lnkd.in/dMNBYfE #WeAreArup #InclusiveDesign #Equality #Diversity #Inclusion
