Our Cash in on Kindness monthly guest collection initiative presented $4,166.38 to Step Up Northern Michigan to make a difference in the lives of the at-risk youth in our community. 45% of the students in the Grand Traverse Region are experiencing food insecurity. Step Up Northern Michigan supports 6 local food pantries located in our area schools through their partnerships with Food Rescue and the Northwest Food Coalition to ensure they have access to food daily, as well as personal hygiene products, clothing, essential needs, and help with employment and living skills. Thank you to our generous February players who donated their change for a change for the better in our community! #nonprofit #community #traversecity #atriskyouth

One of the easiest ways to support the kids served by GO Pantry is to donate food items we need to fill our Spring Break GO Boxes. 🌷☀️🌈 And if you don't have the time or physical capacity to hold an official food drive in your workspace, simply shop our Amazon Wish List and have our most needed items shipped directly to our warehouse! 📦 Spring Break GO Boxes provide a week's worth of kid-friendly, easy-to-prepare food for kids who experience food insecurity when they aren't in school (and as a result, aren't receiving school-provided breakfast and lunch). Click through to access our wish list, or email [email protected] for a full list of items needed for GO Boxes. https://lnkd.in/gdhB2Agg

We NEED YOUR HELP to as we rise to the challenge of serving an increasing number of our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. We are a small, grassroots (read: tight budget!) nonprofit aiming to improve our food pantry to better meet our neighbors' immediate need of emergency food assistance. To achieve that, we must comply with necessary food safety standard. One component entails acquiring 10-12 SIX-FOOT FOLDING TABLES. Does your organization have one to spare or are you able to help us with a financial donation towards the purchase of new tables? All support is impactful! If you would like to contribute $, $$, or $$$ to our goal, please CLICK HERE: https://bit.ly/3FPFCMB

Watch the video tour of the P.A.C.K. facility! Recently, we had an incredible PACK the Van event at the Isle of Hope, where we got an exclusive tour of the P.A.C.K. warehouse and distribution center, guided by Malena Stone herself! The organization and beauty she has infused into this space are truly breathtaking. For those who appreciate an impeccably organized environment (yes, fellow OCD friends, I'm talking to you!), this place is a dream. The bag-packing area operates with unparalleled efficiency – a model of streamlined operations crucial for packing over 4,300 weekly bags for kids. With 1 in 3 children in Southeast Georgia facing food insecurity, the impact of this efficiency cannot be overstated. Malena explained there are another 2000 kids on the waiting list for these food bags! But there's more to the warehouse than just efficiency; the shop area, thoughtfully designed by Malena, creates an experience akin to shopping in a high-end store for the kids. This beautiful, clean, and welcoming space is where children can select clothes and supplies that would otherwise be unaffordable for them. Additionally, it's here that 'emergency bags' are prepared for kids in urgent need, often with nothing but the clothes on their backs. These emergency bags, akin to overnight bags, are equipped with a change of clothes and essential items to support the children for a day or two. Words can not do justice to how impressive this place is – you have to see it for yourself. Check out our video for a full tour, and prepare to be amazed! In light of recent budget cuts, they desperately need the support!! (our ingenious politicians have cut 70% of their budget) P.A.C.K. needs our support more than ever to continue their vital work. Every donation makes a difference in combating child hunger in our community. Click the link below to donate NOW, and help us keep making a positive impact! This #GivingTuesday, consider giving those in need the most tangible gift of all: food. At Feeding The Carolinas, we're committed to ending hunger in our backyard: to address the food insecurity that so many of our neighbors face. But, we can't do it alone! Food insecurity affects all aspects of life. It causes people to have to choose between basic necessities: whether to pay their electric bill or feed themselves. It can exacerbate underlying health conditions, cause serious health issues, and provoke a lack of productivity at work or school. Ending hunger in the Carolinas is a necessity, and you can be a part of the solution. National Director of Development, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, Strategic storyteller, TED Speaker and Ambassador
Did you know that 1 in 8 Americans experience food insecurity while more than $200 billion is spent on food that will never be eaten? That’s billions of pounds of food wasted instead of going to those who need it. Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) aims to redistribute excess food to people experiencing food insecurity. RLC makes it easy for businesses to donate their excess food to their community and provides a reliable, professional food rescue service for our partners at an efficient cost. Join us at the Rescuing Leftover Cuisine Gala 2024 as we unite to end food insecurity. If you cannot attend, please donate to support the cause. We now estimate that we would need to spend twice what we originally budgeted to spend on food this year to meet the ongoing need. This leaves us with a critical gap between the amount of food people in our community need and the amount of food we can provide. Referring people to other food pantries is not the answer, since they are all facing the same critical challenges we are. It is a very difficult and disturbing truth for all of us. While we are deeply concerned, we remain hopeful. We have a generous community, tremendous volunteers, and a skilled and committed staff. Together we can make sure people in our community have the most basic and critical of all needs met and that our neighbors don’t have to experience hunger. You can help by sharing this message in your circles, and also by making a commitment to help today. Increase your giving, make your first financial gift, become a Circle of Hope monthly giver (see below for a link to help you with these), or purchase items from our Amazon wish list. https://lnkd.in/gq2K9EDj This isn't a short term problem with short term answers. But every action makes a difference.
For the first time in our 40-year history, our food pantry can no longer meet the need with our current resources. Visits to our pantry have tripled over the last two years. We are running out of food every week for the households who rely on us for basic food - 75% of them have children. There are enough resources in our community to address this problem and we have the ability to deliver them. Please give TODAY to help us purchase food so people in our community don’t have to experience hunger >>> https://lnkd.in/gqducqPf #middletonwi #middletonwisconsin #madisonwi #madisonwisconsin #danecounty #foodpantry #foodsecurity #foodinsecurity #nonprofit #charitableorganization #hunger #endhunger

Giving Tuesday Spotlight: Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House This Giving Tuesday, a day globally celebrated for generosity and giving, we invite you to consider supporting a cause dear to us: The Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House (DTESNH). Both founders of CM Agility have been actively volunteering here, with Carina also serving as the Board Secretary. This year's focus is the Community Drop-In (CDI) Lunch program, a cornerstone of the DTES community. We're committed to ensuring its continuation throughout 2024. This program is more than just a meal service; it's a hub for connection and rest, providing over 15,600 breakfasts and 9,400 lunches last year alone. Facing the challenge of rising food costs, our goal is bold but vital: to raise $18,000. This will help us combat food insecurity and ensure the right to nutritious food for all members of our community. Here's the impact your donation can make: • $10 = 5 meals • $50 = 25 meals • $100 = 50 meals • $350 = 1 full day of CDI lunches • $1,400 = 1 month of CDI lunches Together, we can make a difference in providing meals served with dignity and care. Every contribution, no matter the size, is a lifeline to those in need and a testament to the power of community support. #GivingTuesday #DTESNH #CommunityCare #FightFoodInsecurity https://lnkd.in/g8XeBn5g #GivingTuesday #CommunitySupport #FightFoodInsecurity #DTESNeighbourhoodHouse #vancouver

It’s #givingtuesday and there will be a lot of competition for your attention (and your dollars) today. At the Northampton Survival Center, we aren’t launching a fancy campaign or making a big end-of-year push for fundraising. Instead, I’m spontaneously writing to tell you this: hunger is an everyday issue and organizations like the Center have to raise funds year-round so that we can provide our neighbors with food year-round. As lovely as it is to have a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, it’s every bit as important to have a filling breakfast on Friday morning. Hunger doesn’t stop after the holiday rush is over. Kids need lunch on the weekends. Senior citizens need fresh produce at the end of the month when money is tight. Parents who have their kids every other week need to make sure there’s food in the house when the kids are. Hunger is still an issue on Tuesdays and in April and in your neighborhood and across the globe. We all eat. We all need healthy food. What does a client of a food pantry look like? They look like you. They’re young professionals and moms with young kids and working families and elderly widowers. They’re folks with mobility issues and perfectly working bodies and mental health challenges. Most are working. Some are unable to. They mostly live in homes and apartments. Sometimes they’re doubled up or couch surfing or living with friends. Sometimes they’re unhoused. Sometimes they drive expensive-looking cars. Sometimes they don’t have transportation. But if your first thought of someone using our services is of a dirty person living in a box, think again. We combat the stereotypes of homelessness and low-income lifestyles every day by providing our clients with nutritious food in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. This means allowing folks to choose the groceries they’ll eat, rather than providing them with a box of randomly packed groceries. It means making sure the food is good quality and within its date. It means giving out full-sized toiletries whenever possible. It means building relationships with the clients we serve so that we can help them to the best of our ability for as long as they need us. And that’s why, whether you choose to donate money, time, or goods to a nonprofit today, I hope you choose a cause you care about and think about how similar we (nonprofits and people alike) all really are. Donating to a nonprofit is an investment in your community—an investment that, of course, helps whatever population the nonprofit targets, but also helps you. I implore you to make good choices today and support the nonprofits that strengthen our community. If the Northampton Survival Center is on your list, you can make a gift online at https://lnkd.in/eTeeE_vk. And know that I (and our clients) will be incredibly grateful. #foodsecurity #neighborshelpingneighbors #fromtheheart

📣 A survey of 9,000 teachers in England has found that one in four brought food into school out of concern for hungry pupils. We get good to eat food to 2,000 charity and community groups that provide after school, holiday, and breakfast clubs to children and young people. Many families have become reliant on these over the summer holidays. The cost of living crisis has forced many of these schools to move from catering breakfast clubs during termtime to passing on food to parents via food banks, pantries, and other support services. We cannot meet the skyrocketing demand for food, and has over 1,500 charities on its waiting list, 600 of which support school-aged children. Support our appeal to help get food to people who need it most 👉 https://lnkd.in/ej85Fgnd 💚 George Wright

Early intervention can save a young person's life.
This Christmas Season please think, there are children experiencing their first Christmas alone. Keep us mentoring by supporting our 'Winter Warmer Campaign.' 1 less drink this season, 1 less bottle of wine, 1 less box of chocolates, could see you donating to help support vulnerable young people through their darkest days. https://lnkd.in/eHFRxMFc
