I have a tendency to really lock in when I am focused on something, usually a game or something business-related. I become blind to my surroundings and dialed in on what is right in front of me. This has been good for sports and business, so it is both a quality I value about myself and one that I dislike at the same time. We spent an awesome night at Andretti's in Orlando when we were there in June. My wife and I had a great time! One of our favorite things to do is to go to Dave and Buster's so this was a step up from that in my opinion! This photo reminded me of something, though, that I have been trying to change about myself (I have gotten MUCH better about this though!). I often get so focused on what I am doing that I miss key moments that mean so much more. This could have been a great photo for my wife and I to share, but I had zero clue the camera was even there. For the first 6 years of my business, I missed so many moments with those closest to me because I was always focused on work. I've played many rounds of golf where I get too dialed in and focused on my score that I don't take advantage of the time alone with friends or family outside on the course. I have trouble letting loose and always seem to be in competition with myself. I have found so much more balance in my lifestyle today because I became aware of this. Photos like this when I catch myself doing it are great learning opportunities for me to be a better husband, friend, son, and brother. While I know we both had an awesome time and this picture was probably just a wrong place, wrong time moment, I love seeing my wife smile and wish I would have seen it when it happened. Focus is important and being able to lock-in every day will take you as high as you want to go, but remember to relax from time to time. This year, I took on the challenging Bighorn Trail Run (a 32-mile race)—an experience I'll never forget. Covering 32 miles through the rugged and scenic terrain of the Bighorn Mountains was incredibly tough but incredibly rewarding. While health and wellness are top priorities for me as a leader and a father, these 32 miles felt daunting before arriving at the race. However, I set a steady pace from the starting line, navigating through the early morning mist and dense forest paths. While trekking through the course, I faced steep climbs and rocky descents as the race progressed. The one thing that never wavered in this journey? My focus and determination to finish it out. The grueling conditions tested my limits, but I drew energy from the stunning views and the supportive cheers of fellow runners and spectators. All the preparation and dedication paid off as I powered through the toughest segments, maintaining a strong rhythm in breath and pace. Crossing the finish line was triumphant, encapsulating months of hard work, training, and mental fortitude. My performance at the Bighorn Trail Run is a testament to my passion for staying fit and pushing myself beyond the limits I previously believed I had. I spent my time last evening cycling around Stirling and having a feel of a place I have spent my past one year for one last time. It has been quite an experience full of memorable events, both happy and sad ones too; the triumphs and failures alike.
