Finland to purchase more Patria 6x6 armoured vehicles The Finnish Defence Forces purchases more Patria 6x6 armoured vehicles by redeeming the additional purchase option related to the agreement signed in June 2023 when Patria signed an agreement for 91 vehicles with the Finnish Defence Forces Logistic Command. The agreement also included a purchase option up to 70 vehicles of which the Finnish Defence Forces now redeems 40 vehicles. Vehicle deliveries are currently underway. "The purchase is part of the multinational CAVS (Common Armoured Vehicle System) programme which in addition to Finland includes Latvia, Sweden and Germany. During 2023 deliveries commenced also to Sweden and deliveries to Latvia have been underway since 2021. With close and excellent cooperation between the countries and Patria, the programme has proceeded quickly. All F-16s in most European air forces are equipped with drag chutes specifically to allow them to operate from automobile highways. Obviously much risk here but potential to control if both sides choose to play along with Plausible Deniability.

We will deliver our PROTECTOR RS4 weapon stations to Patria’s Common Armoured Vehicle Systems (CAVS), which is a well protected and highly mobile modular 6x6 vehicle. The PROTECTOR RS4 is designed and built for operation in harsh conditions, with capabilities that allow soldiers to operate from a protected position using stabilized precision optics and laser to observe and detect targets. Patria announced on 20 March a contract to deliver 321 such CAVS vehicles to the Swedish armed forces. Russian air crews participate in joint military exercise with Belarus The joint tactical exercise was carried out on the territory of Belarus between May 27 and 31 MOSCOW, May 31/ Air crews of the Russian Aerospace Forces participated in a joint exercise with the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces, the Russian defense ministry said. "Crews of Su-30SM multirole fighter jets, Su-24 tactical bombers, as well as of Mi-24 and Mi-8 army aviation helicopters participated in a joint tactical flight training with the personnel of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defence Forces," the ministry said. "As part of the exercise, the crews practiced using aircraft armaments against designated targets." On August 3, 2024, NATO’s Combined Air Operation Centre at Uedem scrambled two Aeronautica Militare Eurofighter Typhoon in response to potential threats from Russian military aircraft. The Italian jets were immediately dispatched from Šiauliai Air Base, Lithuania, to track and escort the aircraft. The Italian’s identified two Russian MIG-29s flying over the international waters in the Baltic Sea, close to Alliance territory. Italian Eurofighters escorted the Russian Aircraft demonstrating the high state of readiness and proficiency of the Italian detachment. Under NATO’s Air Policing mission, an Alpha Scramble is triggered when an aircraft is flying an invalid or incorrect flight plan; fails to or loses communication with the relevant air traffic control authority; or fails to communicate with the air traffic control authorities using the transponder, an electronic device that emits a four-digit signal called a “squawk code”.
