New guidance on GenAI just released by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) this week: the "Gen AI Profile", to help organizations identify and mitigate risks posed by Gen AI. The tool identifies 13 risks and more than 400 actions that can be taken to manage them. NIST also published additional resources, including the "Secure Software Development Practices for Generative AI", guidance for reducing risks related to synthetic content and a plan for global engagement on AI standards. #GenAI #riskmanagement

As new technologies showing great promise appear on the horizon with increasing frequency, companies report feeling less capable of understanding -- much less evaluating -- their potential benefits and costs. As a result, many companies lack adequate policies and practices for Digital Risk Governance (DRG).  It’s time to recognize DRG as an integral part of enterprise governance. Digital risk is no longer just operational — it’s strategic, and demands attention at the highest executive and board levels. I’ll discuss a potential approach for this next week at KMWorld.
