LSC Corporate Partners are invited to support local students this school year. Help underserved students start the new year with all the school supplies they need by holding a backpack drive and assembly event in your office. Your team can come together to fill the donated backpacks with critical school supplies, to be given directly to a student! Last week, we hosted our 2024 "Careers In The Life Sciences" panel for Project Onramp! Thank you to Eugene Chen, Amy Bergen, Scott Bechtler-Levin, Brittany Bradrick, David Williamson, Chris Nardo, & Shelly Meeusen for joining us to provide your invaluable insight on the different pathways our interns can take! Sharing your experience equipped our students with more tools to continue making steps to propel their careers.

Members of the Life Science Cares San Diego Board of Advisors and their families recently teamed up with Feeding San Diego to sort 3,800 lbs of apples for 960 local families in need. Committed to connecting community members facing hunger with nutritious food, Feeding San Diego is doing impactful work and we are grateful for their partnership. Shelly Meeusen Jason E. Thank you Longboard Pharmaceuticals for providing new backpacks filled with critical school supplies for under-resourced elementary school students at Home Start Inc.! We have so much appreciation for the employees who came together to donate enough supplies to provide 50 children with all the materials they need to start the new school year. Special shout out to Lindsay Petersen for all her work making this event happen. Thank you Longboard to your commitment to volunteering and for helping students in need in our community!

We are thankful to leaders like Vickie Reed who is not only a member of our Board of Advisors, but who also serves as a key member of our Finance Committee providing oversight to LSCSD year around. Thank you, Vickie, for helping make meaningful change in our community.

Boundless Bio is in the middle of their summer of service! This summer their team has worked with Life Science Cares to volunteer with many of our nonprofit partners, to make a big positive impact in our community. This week, the Boundless Bio team visited Serving Seniors to host a birthday party for all the seniors with a July birthday! Serving Seniors provides critical services to low-income and currently unhoused senior citizens. This support includes everything from free healthy meals to providing a place for community support. The party hosted by Boundless Bio gave the seniors a source of connection and joy, by providing a fun celebration! Thank you to Boundless Bio for your consistent commitment to helping our neighbors in need!
