It's no secret workforce shortages continue to plague the medical laboratory community. 😔 But while the problems affecting the recruiting pipeline are well known, the solutions to alleviating the issue don't often receive as much attention. 💡 In a new research publication, Angela Tomei Robinson MS MLS ASCPcm Laboratory Medicine, and Dr. Rodney E Rohde, SV, SM, MB (ASCP), FACSc, lay out the issue before emphasizing why the conversation must be focused on ATTRACTING, RECRUITING, and RETAINING medical lab professionals to solve staffing issues in the long term. "The challenges for an out of sight out of view medical profession must not continue the path of short-term band-aids being offered," the authors note.
