Get To Know our NewHQ - Engineering Building! 🛠️🏢 We design the future of mobility! Where do we do this, you ask? Join us on a trip down a truly magical part of our NewHQ: The engineering building. 🛠️ Situated roughly in the middle of the complex, the engineering building is where our developers and engineers take their ideas from the drawing board and make them a reality. To do this, this jewel of a building has quite a few aces up its sleeve. An array that simulates hundreds of cars? We’ve got it! 💪 How about 3D-printers that we use to prototype casings for car electronics? There’s something wrong with a motherboard? We can x-ray it and find out the tiniest of details. By the way, have you ever wondered whether we take our products for a bumpy ride? We do indeed! An entire building wing is dedicated to taking our products and submitting them to simulated rain, humidity, heat up to 100 degrees C and cold of around 30 degrees below freezing. So what about the bumps? Also yes! We have a chamber specifically intended to simulate punctual shocks. In case you’ve ever wondered whether someone has ever tested the effect of hitting a pothole on electronics, the answer is a resounding yes! We also have shielded rooms that can block any exterior signal while simulating any signal of choice. One of these rooms can even fit an entire van! At Delve, we frequently build foam core mockups for clients to conduct ergonomic assessments and get feedback on in-progress work. But larger models can take us days and even weeks to construct. Later, if big changes need to be made, those adjustments take even more time and effort. Transporting a model can present additional challenges. In the case of one model of a room-sized lab instrumentation system, we had to rent a truck to drive it (in pieces) to our client a couple of hours away. Then we reassembled it on-site. Thanks to virtual reality, some of these prototyping challenges are a thing of the past.
