I had a great experience chatting with Patrick on my first-ever podcast appearance! I am reasonably confident I didn't embarrass myself while waxing poetic on community software, open source, & migrations but be gentle if you don't agree. 😂

When private equity buys online community platforms, who wins? Usually, community pros are among the losers. Lincoln Russell used Vanilla Forums for community building long before joining the company. He eventually became the director of engineering. After leaving for another role, Lincoln continued to use Vanilla Forums, and it was subsequently purchased by Higher Logic, backed by private equity. This gives him a unique perspective for our latest episode, where we talk about how community software changes as ethos, goals, and ownership change. ▶️ https://lnkd.in/guDHWKKF #OnlineCommunities #CommunityManagement #CommunityManager #CMGR #PrivateEquity

I think I told you this at the time but I was surprised it was your first appearance. Our show has been the first appearance for many folks, and this definitely wasn't one of the obvious ones. Great to have you on. Thanks for the time.
