Helping busy women eat the foods they love without feeling like sh*t. Founder of Full Bloom Acres Wellness

This is why you still have heartburn even though you’ve been taking PPIs and antacids for years. I know most doctors prescribe Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) as the solution to heartburn and acid reflux. They put you on them and tell you you can’t ever stop. Let me tell you why this approach is not working. 👋🏻 Hi! I’m Lindsay, a gut health practitioner with a Master’s in Holistic Nutrition helping women ditch the chalky chews, improve digestion, and lose weight. I have helped many people, some as young as 14 and as old as 84, resolve their acid reflux using this approach. Acid reflux doesn’t discriminate and can happen at any age. PPIs were not designed for long-term use. They were designed to help with short-term relief of heartburn by blocking acid coming up from your stomach to your esophagus. Yes, that’s a problem. And we can fix that. But PPIs can lead to low stomach acid and you need stomach acid to properly digest your food. Remember, PPIs and antacids reduce acid. Low stomach acid can cause: ❌ Nutrient deficiencies ❌ Infections ❌ An imbalanced gut microbiome ❌ Chronic health issues ❌ Hair loss ❌ Nausea when taking vitamins and supplements ❌ Bloating, gas, diarrhea, and HEARTBURN Yep, heartburn is a symptom of low stomach acid. Isn’t that what you were trying to fix with the PPIs? What should you do instead? 1⃣ Check out your gut through stool testing. 2⃣ Work with a practitioner (me ) who can help you address any imbalances (either a chronic infection such as H. pylori or a bacterial or fungal overgrowth). 3⃣ Support your good gut bugs by slowly introducing a prebiotic supplement. 4⃣ Strengthen your body by eating more fiber. 5⃣ Use supplements to address any nutrient deficiencies. Low stomach acid can cause serious health issues if left untreated. So this is something to take seriously. If you’re ready to finally eliminate heartburn and you’re done with listening to advice that doesn’t work, DM me the word HEARTBURN and let’s chat. #heartburn #acidreflux #holisticwellness #holisticnutrition #guthealth

Yes! I learned so much about the billion dollar PPI industry through reading "Why Stomach Acid is Good for You" by Dr Jonathan Wright. Long term PPI use is not health promoting and can be detrimental. Thank you for this information, Lindsay Little!

Those PPIs are so common and overused! They say right on the packaging that they're not for long term use! OTC antacids aren't any better long term. This is a big deal - thanks for covering it!

Thank you for this Lindsay! My friend's son was put on high dose PPIs. Luckily she found a practitioner like you to start helping get his system back in balance.

20 years ago, I used to sell PPIs and was trained to tell docs that they were perfectly ok for long term use, Lindsay Little! Far from the truth.😳

I am SO passionate about stomach acid... especially after dispensing thousands of them in the pharmacy and people on it for decades!

Interesting post, Lindsay! It's crucial to address the root cause of heartburn instead of relying on long-term PPI use. Your approach to gut health is informative and empowering. Thank you
