Hey there! Big news! I've made it to Lacoste ! 🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊 A few years ago, I wrapped up my Biotechnology degree and did an internship at a Spanish Research Centre. But guess what? I quickly realized it wasn't the path for me. So, I decided to try something new and pursued a Master's in Operations Management, thinking it would combine my engineering background with my love for creativity and management. Well, that didn't quite pan out the way I expected. But here's where it gets interesting. After just a year, I had the chance to go for a Double Diploma Degree in Brand Management in France. And I thought, "Why not?" - it was my shot to explore my creative side. And guess what? Six months later, I landed my first big marketing internship with L'Oréal, one of France's biggest companies. Today, I'm thrilled to share my latest adventure: I've joined Lacoste as a Global Marketing Manager Assistant in the Footwear department, and I'm doing it all in French. I really want to express my gratitude to my managers Mehdi Khelifi & Robin Kleniec for believing in me as I can't wait to embark on this exciting journey! 🐊 PS. Never stop challenging yourself. I can't think of many more important decisions I made in my life than where I began my career journey. I kicked off as a Saturday lad at JJB Sports, Parkgate, Rotherham. Stacking shelves, stock room runs to grab trainers and the most thrilling part, learning how to use the Football shirt number/name printing machine! - Once in '94 I put "9 - Shearer" on the back of a Man Utd home shirt, when he looked nailed on to go there...bet that jersey didn't get much airtime ;-) Anyway, this job set me up with a love for all things retail. I learned how to interact with customers, built communication skills and understood the importance of listening. Ever since my first tryst with Retail via a B-School summer internship with a global sportswear giant back in 2017, the very thing that has fascinated me about Retail is the golden opportunity to interact with customers at a personal level, something that’s invaluable as a Marketing professional, and arguably, which online surveys or listening sessions could seldom match. I had the opportunity of spending 5 days at H&M’s bustling Connaught Place store in New Delhi, learning about several functions that go into the making of an anchor store, visual merchandising, product lines, fashion trends, and precious consumer behaviour insights.
