Great advice for leaders.

Its the most wonderful time, of the year..... or is it? "silly season" is upon us. Nobody is around, at least not as much as usual. #Suppliers cant be reached. #Team #capacity is down by a billion %. Pressures mounting around those #milestones you planned for before knowing everyones summer VayCay arrangements... So what now? well. DONT PANIC! job 1. Now were not panicking, lets get a refresh on those plans. 👉 What is your #reality? 👉 Who is left on the pitch? 👉 How about your supplier/#partner availability? 👉 Will #onboarding slow down? 👉 Can you swap order of #deliverables based on the above answers? Ultimately you can only do so much. But right now is where you earn your "I know how to #prioritise ruthlessly" badge!! be #transparent with your Board/Exec Team/Peers/Team members... bring everyone along on the journey and #deliver together, confident of #support and knowledge from those that don't like surprises! So what are you waiting for? #Change gear, don't run out of top speed

Meet Lil' Bucker, the hope of the Dirt World. This is what I imagine every time I talk to Dirt World companies about their training and recruiting problems. Don't get me wrong, he's wearing the heck out of that cowboy hat and I'm more than a little jealous of his bouncy horse. But if you are hoping on Lil' Bucker and other farm kids like him to be the cure to your people problems, you are in for more of a bumpy ride than even Lil' Bucker's bouncy horse could dream of. What does this mean for you? It means that kid from McDonalds you turned away because he's never used a tape measure before, may actually be worth taking a chance on. We talk with companies every week who are putting in the work to create cultures that celebrate the training and development of their people. Companies that search for drive and teachability over industry experience. It's not easy, but the companies that are figuring this out are going to be way ahead of the bell curve as hiring and recruitment continue to get harder.

I’m a recent graduate in Business Management from Portsmouth University. During my time at Storefast, I’m eager to learn about the day-to-day operations of the business, including how different departments collaborate to ensure smooth logistics, how decisions are made to optimize efficiency and the strategies used to maintain high operational standards.   Q4: What's your dream job? My dream job is to become a Director of Football at a major European club.   Q5: If you were a Cocktail what would you be? A whisky sour.

So, this article got me all up in my feelings today. "Dry promotions" occur when a company upgrades a worker's responsibility and title without a raise in monetary compensation. Some companies promise consideration for an uplevel in compensation in the future, while others simply use the bump in responsibility as reward enough. While I understand the pros and cons, I'm curious as to who embraces this practice and why? Are there good reasons for companies to use dry promotions in their people strategies? I'm truly trying to understand the varying perspectives. What do you think?

Team Tuesday & Employee Spotlight! We hope everyone had a great long weekend and enjoyed that incredible weather. Today's McClay's spotlight is with Brandan Mutton (he's kind of a big deal on the ball diamond) who works for McClay's Transportation as an Account Manager. Q: Brandan could you explain in a bit more detail a little bit about your role at McClay's and some of the day to day activity: A: My main focuses are building and managing strong relationships with our amazing customers. I enjoy building strong relationships with potential customers and helping them to make good business decisions. I am also heavily involved in cross functional collaboration. I work closely with sales, marketing, product development, and customer support to ensure the success of our business and our customers businesses. Q: What do you enjoy most about working at McClay's: A: I really enjoy how McClay's has kept their values as they have grown to where they are today. Being a hometown kid, I have got to watch the McClay's family grow this business from the ground up. Troy and Ryan McClay have done a great job at keeping the small family run business feeling (we a agree with the culture that we have here), while building this great local business up to what it is currently. I am excited to be apart of our continued growth and success moving forward. Q: What are some of your interests outside of work: A: Outside of work if you need to find me, check the ball diamonds, golf course, the gym, or spending some down time with the family. Q: Something people might not know about you: A: I secretly love Taco Bell, a couple of Tacos and a Fries supreme just hits the spot right...
