Today we received official notification from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine that Bord Bia - The Irish Food Board had secured to two new EU co-funded campaigns to promote #organic #beef and #lamb and a separate campaign to promote #mushrooms . The combined value of the two campaigns is €5.7 million over three years. The organic campaign will invest €2.7 million in promoting organic beef and lamb in Austria, Belgium, Germany and Sweden, while the mushroom campaign will see €3 million allocated to promoting mushrooms across the UK. Well done and thanks to all involved in securing these two, new EU co-funded campaigns. In 2024 Bord Bia will run seven separate EU co-funded campaigns across Ireland, the UK, Europe, South East Asia, China and the USA. In addition to promoting mushrooms and organic beef and lamb, the current EU campaigns are promoting dairy, potatoes, fruit and vegetables, and beef and lamb. What's the point of a [Value-Add] hot dog if I cant put it in a USDA National Organic Program (Agricultural Marketing Service) #certified #organic organic bun? Does that consumer also want a value-add bun? Or is it just me? Is it harder to grow [value-add] lines in grocery stores when this scenario happens? As a brand, is it hard to get accurate data? Value-add consumers do exist in my area and the market is being missed. #ruralfoodaccess

Beer is a surprisingly food safe product as there's a trifecta protecting the liquid from foodborne illness after its been sterilised through the boiling process. Hops, acidity, and alcohol work together to create a very hostile environment for foodborne bacteria. With the upward trend of NA beers, especially on the craft level, one of the critical elements of the trifecta is removed (or sometimes never even produced). By making NA beer a brewer must process their product with this in mind and take time to understand what they are doing. They must take the UPMOST stringent sanitary practices from start of fermentation until it reaches the customers lips. Pasteurization is a safe and effective way to ensure the product you are providing will keep people from being seriously ill. I highly encourage the commercial brewers out there to study up before they dive in!

Other names for this crop and its agricultural product (the harvested root tubers) are mandi'o (Paraguay), mandioca (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay), cassava or, in Spanish-speaking Latin America, yuca. The plant is widely cultivated because of its starchy root tubers. The processed starch is called tapioca. It originally comes from South America and was already used as a food by the indigenous people. For one of our customers, we made wonderful snacks in various shapes from the cooked tuber. The deep-fried snacks are similar to the potato products we are familiar with in Germany. However, the consistency and taste are very different.  From my own experience, I can say: incredibly tasty! And they look great too, don't they? Do you also want to make products like these?
