I may not officially be an Estimator, but I do play one on TV just about every day. Building successful custom tools in #Bluebeam requires knowledge of a few things: 1. Construction materials 2. How materials are measured or quantified. 3. Purchasing Units 4. Methods of installation 5. Waste factors 6. Labor costs 7. Rental equipment costs 8. Tracking what has been quantified and what hasn't 9. Tracking job changes in various forms 10. Managing Documents and many more. I may not have the title of Estimator, but I've asked the right questions to build custom tools for just about every CSI division in construction. I've tested, broken, and fixed hundreds of tools to make sure they are easy enough for an intern, yet get the results of a senior estimator. My experience and questions often bring new insight into how estimates could be done.
