What are your systems for success? I started asking myself this question in 2020, when everything shifted and I, like so many of us, realized that a change was needed. At that time, I was saying "yes" to everything—from advances in my career to every social event I could get my hands on—and I was rushing from one thing to the next, so much so, that I was losing myself in the process. I was BURNT OUT. And it took a complete shutdown (literally in the world!) to get me to see the truth and make a shift. One of the biggest changes I made was recognizing how much time I allocated to different things (work, social life, family, creative pursuits, etc.). And I started with color-coding my calendar to physically see where and what was taking the most time. It sounds simple (and it is!) but using a color-coding system can really help you to identify what's taking up the most space/attention and reassess your priorities if they don't feel aligned with your overall goals. 📌Over the past year, I've shared many tips for founders here on LinkedIn. One challenge that consistently stands out is building trust. Here are some of the unspoken rules of the 'trust formula' I've learned: ▪︎ Communicate consistently: Keep your investors or clients informed with regular updates on your progress. ▪︎ Be transparent: Share both successes and challenges openly. It shows authenticity and strengthens connections. ▪︎ Deliver on promises: Always follow through on your commitments. Reliability builds trust, but if you can't deliver, be honest about it. I used to take everything personally. (not anymore) Especially in business. I remember a few years ago, I was called to my boss’s office for a chat. Only to be informed that I will be made redundant. It was completely unexpected and I took it personally. Oh yeah, super personally. Why me? There are many others. What have I done wrong? The short answer is - nothing. I was good at my job. The reasons were something completely different. Then I started my own business, scaled up to 17 sites, 200+ employees and exited to a market leader.
