Here is what you need to know: 1. Drake Rd. will still allow east-bound traffic only from the railroad tracks to Main Street. 2. Lincoln St. will be closed along with the north approach of S. Orchard St. at Drake Rd. intersection 3. Falkirk Wheel ( Scotland ) The two canals served by the wheel were previously connected by a series of 11 locks. With a 35-metre (115 ft) difference in height, it required 3,500 tonnes (3,400 long tons; 3,900 short tons) of water per run and took most of a day to pass through the flight. When the Fern Hollow Bridge in Pittsburgh’s Frick Park collapsed, four people sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Had the bridge collapsed an hour later, during peak commuter time, it could have been a different story. Following the collapse, an emergency project team was assembled and given the green light to start working on the rebuild immediately. With conventional methods, replacing a bridge this size typically would have taken three to four years, plus the time required to redesign the bridge, plan the bridge construction, obtain approvals, prepare the site, and install substructure elements. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority made its case Wednesday to proceed with part of a highway widening project in Hudson County it argues will reduce congestion, improve safety, and support growth expected in the region. "The extension provides needed access to local communities, the ports and marine terminals, and Newark (Liberty International) Airport, as well as services, recreation, and entertainment in Bayonne, Jersey City, and Newark," according to Lisa Navarro, the Turnpike Authority's supervising engineer on the project. The #WaterfrontSeattle project is a collaboration of ambitious proportions that is set to revolutionize the area, providing improved accessibility and connection for pedestrians, motorists, and bicyclists. The creative use of Low-Density Cellular Concrete (LDCC) and precast full-height panels in the ROW is a prime example of this project's innovation. This method of construction ensures the preservation and safety of buried utilities while at the same time creating a much-needed connection between Elliott Way and Pine Street.
