🇺🇸 #US military has demonstrated the capability to transmit Link 16 tactical data lines from space, a development expected to revolutionize military operations in the Indo-Pacific region. Link 16 is a military tactical data link network used by #NATO members and other nations. Link 16 enables military aircraft, ships, and ground forces to exchange their tactical picture in near-real time; it also supports the exchange of text messages, imagery, and voice (the latter on two digital channels: 2.4 kbit/s or 16 kbit/s in any combination). This breakthrough comes as part of efforts to counter #China's formidable Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) strategy, designed to keep US forces at bay in the event of a conflict, particularly over Taiwan.

Based on the infographics posted in a Taiwanese channel, the area affected by the ammunition includes Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, Chongqing, and, from a military perspective, military facilities on the territory of the Eastern, Central and Southern Commands of the PLA.
