New data presented at #ATS2024 suggest that #BronchialRheoplasty (#BR) reduces mucus plugging in adults with #ChronicBronchitis (CB). Dr. Victor Kim’s research included 52 patients with symptomatic #CB who underwent bilateral BR procedures. After the Bronchial Rheoplasty, the mean mucus plugging score decreased by nearly one segment from 4.3 to 3.4. Additionally, the distal airway volume increased by 7.4%. #COPD symptoms were also improved, with mean changes from baseline to follow-up of 6.8 points on the COPD Assessment Test and 14.5 points on the St. George’s Respiratory Questionnaire.
