We thought that building lockers was easy… it’s not! When we first started out on our journey at Koloni we planned on doing it ALL. The hardware, software, electronics, and everything in between. We quickly realized that hardware was not our bread and butter. Focusing on our core strength of building world class software is where we needed to speed 100% of our time. Alternatively, we found many smart lock and locker manufacturers coming to the same conclusion. They found that building software was much harder than initially anticipated. This is where we FINALLY found our place in the market. By building partnerships with industry leaders in locker manufacturing, we have been able to disrupt locker solutions across industries. By leveraging the existing relationships and knowledge base of these legacy locker manufacturers, we have been able to take their feedback to improve our product. While they’re sales networks have been able to open new doors (pun intended) and increase their footprint. These partnerships have been exciting and really disruptive!

You found a reliable parcel locker provider. You send out an RFQ and get a competitive proposal. Your business grows and you need to expand the network. This time the pricing has changed. What do you do? Does your technology allow you to introduce new hardware vendors/solutions to your network? As per #CollabNET experience and market research, it is possible to reduce capital expenditure by 5-25% by choosing different solutions depending on your network needs. As an example, you can choose a simple configuration for indoor lockers and a more premium solution which must withstand local weather conditions. When planning or expanding your Parcel Locker network, then one of the key aspects to consider is the Investment Cost of hardware. #lastmiledelivery #lockers #automation #ooh

Some parcel carriers with their own locker networks are delivering to significant numbers of small lockers rather than a lesser number of larger lockers. What are the pros and cons of this approach? Can this setup actually be advantageous? Regular co-hosts Gary Winter and Marek Rozycki discuss.
Can having a plentiful supply of small lockers within a small area be an effective strategy?

Many wholesalers build up inventory based on POP-codes. These are based on the popularity of suppliers and indicate what percentage of the car park is covered. But is the coverage of the car park the right indicator to determine inventory quantities? At WESP, we look at it differently. We can tell, per part group, what the best-selling parts are. Not just based on vehicle fit, but on retail sell-out data. After all, it is not just about whether something fits but whether something is sold. Interest rates are no longer small, and the right investment is important. By basing it on the OE-number, you can save on duplicate numbers from your inventory. And in case you decide to maintain multiple brands, at least you know what it costs you. #InventoryManagement #DataInsight #RetailTrends #IAM
