I have been saying it for years: ICE has still potential! And our partnership with GEELY proves it once again today.   With HORSE Powertrain Limited, we team up with Geely to put ourselves in the condition to achieve worldwide leadership and scale in powertrain components and systems, with 9 clients through 130 countries across the world, 17 plants, 5 R&D centers and the capacity to produce almost 5 million units per year.   We know that the global shift towards carbon neutrality is a bumpy road. 50% of vehicles produced in the world are expected to still rely on combustion engines by 2040. And just like in Formula 1, we need to have a plan A, a plan B and also a plan C.   That's what Horse is about: reinventing ICE technologies, pushing for ultra-low emission solutions, including #efuels.    Good luck and congratulations to Matias Giannini and the teams that helped us bring this project to life. Excatly ! ICEV or HEV running on CO2 neutral fuels (both efuel and Biofuels) are as good as BEV in terms of CO2 emissions measured on the whole life cycle !

C’est une très bonne stratégie. Il ne faut pas écarter la Chine de la course à l’électrique et est encore moins imposer des droits de douanes à 100% comme Monsieur Biden le recommande. Peut-être que les US peuvent se le permettre, mais pas encore l’Europe. De toute façon, l’électrification et l’IA, et cela n’engage que moi, doivent se faire ensemble. Les conflits et les guerres commerciales n’arrangent rien du tout que du contraire. XI JINPING l’a compris. Ce n’est pas parce que XI JINPING envoie des armes à la Russie qu’il faut tout arrêter sur le secteur automobile. Ceux qui pensent le contraire font fausse route. Monsieur Lucas De Meo l’a bien compris et ne fait de tort à personne. Lucas a d’abord proposé une engagement avec VW qui a repoussé l’offre concernant la TWINGO électrique et tant pis pour eux. Renault doit poursuivre sa route toute tracée, et il est grand temps de mobiliser toutes les FORCES chez Renault comme la Société le fait actuellement d’une façon magistrale. Bravo et félicitations pour la stratégie visionnaire du secteur.

There are two things here: - The ICE engine has potential but not in EU. Outside EU we will see ICE engines for many decades from now and there are a lot of markets where Mercedes, Volvo, Renault, Dacia, Nissan will sell this kind of engines with great success. - The joint venture Horse will help a lot in the next 10 years in EU to reduce costs. To have one company which produce engines in high quantities for different brands is the perfect solution. In the same time, Horse will be able to develop different type of hybrids like full hybrid, plug-in, range extender because these engines will be produced in high quantities.
