📢 Excited to be featured in The New York Times discussing the critical importance of long-acting contraception in Africa! 🌍💊 Investing in reproductive health is vital for sustaining the significant gains we have made in improving women's health, education, and economic opportunities. As an African woman who has lived in a community with limited access, i find myself feeling both privileged and grateful for our work. One of my career highlights was when MSI Reproductive Choices Ghana started supporting the public sector facility in my own community. Otis can tell you how much noise i made in the office the day i saw Nsuaem health center on our PSS list for western region (Ghana). I was excited first because it is my community that inspired me to work in this space; and mostly because i absolutely believe in MSI’s approach to public sector strengthening. I could trust that the clinical quality standards and diverse models of capacity building in reproductive healthcare delivery that would be intrusive will be transformative for my people (i had a literal heartbreak when we had to close down operations in my home region due to funding limitations). Investments in reproductive healthcare ensures a brighter, more equitable future for all. I’m certainly hopeful to see increasing progress.
