The first Biden-Trump presidential debate takes place this Thurs. 6/27 on CNN. I will definitely watch it and hope that you will, too. But keep your eyes and ears open. I am very doubtful that Mr. Trump will receive fair and equal treatment from either CNN or the two 'moderators' who have a long history of bias against Mr. Trump and conservatives. https://lnkd.in/gHkkCyfS Read this article and watch the clip for just one example of how CNN silences certain perspectives while promoting others. Karoline Leavitt simply mentioned how CNN had demonstrated this bias in the past. And for this 'egregious sin', her microphone was cut and she was taken off the air. What is so dangerous about the TRUTH and FREEDOM OF SPEECH? Could it be that there is an agenda underway, and that some people don't trust YOU to decide whether YOU believe or disbelieve something based on what YOU actually see and hear? HERE'S MY POINT. Be skeptical and ask hard questions. Don't accept anything at face value because there is always more to the story. It is not difficult to find various alternatives to what you are told, or to fact-check things for yourself. I trust you to make informed decisions for yourself IF you have all the info to do so. LEARN...and THEN VOTE, my friends.

When you have to prepare two sets of questions for your debate:

Answer the effing question!!!!! We're being bombarded at the minute by party political broadcasts and interviews with politicians so my blood pressure is rising exponentially. I'll apologise now for any outbursts on here over the next couple of months. My question today is why do politicians INSIST on not answering a simple question?? Instead they focus on slating the other parties and then give some vague soundbite which means f-all to anyone. And we lap it up for some reason. If I was pitching for a Chief Executive role and the selection committee asked me a simple question like, "How would you ensure we get a diverse shortlist for consideration"?, and I responded by telling them the lack of diverse outcomes from other consultancies, rather than the numerous measures we build in to our process to assure a positive outcome, I'd be told politely (or not) to jog on!! So please, for once...just ANSWER THE EFFING QUESTION!!!!!

HOW TO GET ACROSS A SERIOUS MESSAGE – AND GET SOME LAUGHS ALONG THE WAY IF PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN CAN DO IT, SO TOO CAN YOU!!! There’s a learnable skill in getting laughs from an audience - and landing a deadly serious message off the back of them. Amazingly America’s much-derided President Joe Biden has just demonstrated how to do it. Sure he’s not quite in the same league as those star quality American presidential communicators of the past - Barack Obama, Ronald Reagan, John F Kennedy or Franklin Roosevelt. But, at the latest annual dinner of White House media correspondents in Washington DC, Joe Biden did an pretty good performance job - admittedly with the help of excellent presidential speech-writers. Jo Biden used the occasion to effectively ridicule his easy-to-laugh-at presidential opponent, Donald Trump and members of The 45th President Donald Trump Appointee and Alumni Group - and even used some admirable self-deprecation about his own age to help set the scene. And from there he moved on to make a serious point about the future of U.S. democracy – making historic reference to the American Civil War General Robert E Lee and the pornographic film actress Stormy Daniels while addressing an audience of politicians and media representatives. Excerpt: What’s interesting is that Fox News producers and anchors don’t necessarily need to be pro-Trump per se to push this agenda. Instead, this kind of coverage can be animated by a purely partisan agenda of objecting to anything that could hurt the right or help the Democratic Party. (Crucially, it requires an indifference to the law to take full shape.) The effect of this coverage is more airtime for Trump and reinforcement for Trump’s self-mythologizing about being a victim of the establishment. When panel after panel on Fox News drives home the idea that the legal system can’t be trusted anymore, it primes right-wing viewers to think that by supporting Trump they’re defending their own freedom.

I'm no media critic, but I've written a lot about how the American media infrastructure doesn't seem up to the task of covering this year's election. I've also been thinking a lot about where the blame for that lies. It's easy to come for reporters with bylines or commentators and columnists, and I'm guilty of doing that. It's not the full story, however. I've realized that a lot of my frustrations should be directed at upper management. Because the same executives who have gutted newsrooms with layoffs and shut down outlets entirely also make hires like Ronna McDaniel. The organized resistance at NBC News was impressive. Everyone from union employees to Chuck Todd and Rachel Maddow leveraged their platforms to speak out and hold management accountable. I've always had a lot of respect for how NBC and MSNBC cover the issues I write about, and I know from talking to folks there that, as an organization, they generally do a better job of protecting journalists under threat from MAGA than a lot of other newsrooms. That culture might have contributed to the show of solidarity with one another as they held the line and fought for the integrity of their newsrooms. Voters deserve better than the political coverage we're currently getting, especially in terms of what the stakes of this election are. They need to understand that our rights and freedoms are being taken away, and once again, American Democracy is on the ballot. I don't necessarily object to hiring a political operative as a contributor, but Ronna McDaniel was involved in attempts to overturn a national election. The rhetoric she and her colleagues in Trump World regularly said about journalists incited violence and put journalists in danger. She shouldn't be a paid contributor on any network news program. Moving forward, I plan to be more careful in my media critiques. My baseline question: is this the fault of the people you see or the management you don't? The answer won't always be the latter, but I think it's important to always consider the question.
