TF SABER & 1-91 CAV PARATROOPERS AND FAMILY MEMBERS, 2007-08 Become Ever-Better The Saber Six Foundation helps our members create an ever-better future. We transform veterans’ mental health through adventure and development programs that strengthen Purpose, Belonging, and Wellbeing. People who are becoming ever-better do not spiral into crisis. This mission is vital. Since 9/11, over 120,000 veterans reportedly have died by suicide. Overdoses and other deaths of despair push the toll higher. Our own unit has lost more to suicide and overdoses than enemy fire. You can help our veterans by joining our community, spreading the word, and investing in our unit’s veterans and families. We are grateful for your support. #veterans #paratroopers #cavalry #airborne #usarmy #skysoldiers #combatveterans #Afghanistan #mentalhealth #supportourtroops #TFSaber #triggermasterychallenge

Veteran suicide prevention starts upstream. Part of how Veterans Bridge Home ensures we are meeting the needs of #transitioningservicemembers is by connecting with them in their first year of transition outside of #militaryservice. I've, personally, committed to moving the needle forward for #veterans in the Charlotte community by becoming a #BattleBuddy. The Battle Buddy program promotes the resilience of #servicemembers through connecting #transitioningveterans to a network of good people and trusted partners to assist with making connections (#employment, #housing, #VABenefits assistance, #education, #healthcare). So if you meet a #veteran, a Veteran family member, or Servicemember who needs help connecting to #CareerResources, #HumanServices, or #CommunityEngagement, and you don't know where to send them - send them to Veterans Bridge Home! https://lnkd.in/e6U6KYJ4 #BeTheBridge #VeteransBridgeHome #veteranshelpingveterans
Veteran Bridge Home is both a leader and participant in local and state initiatives like the Mayor’s Challenge and Governor’s Challenge to Reduce Suicides among Service Members, Veterans and their Families (SMVF). Growing one’s skills as a battle buddy is part of an upstream approach that promotes the resilience and post-traumatic growth of our military and veteran families through a network of good people and trusted partners by which SMVF make the connections they desire (jobs, housing, education, healthcare, etc.) to thrive. #veteransbridgehome #VBH #veterans #suicide #suicideprevention

#WhatWeDoWednesday: The impacts of military service are life-long, and veterans and their families deserve the benefits and resources available to them due to their service and sacrifice. The problem? Over 30% of veterans struggle to find or access these resources promptly. That's where we come in. At Code of Support, our mission is to remove the barriers that keep veterans from receiving critical resources. These resources are how we keep veteran and military families in their homes, remove them from food insecurity, connect them to mental health services, and more. By leveraging technology and our fully remote workforce, we reach veterans nationwide. With your help, we can continue to change and save lives. ➡️ https://ow.ly/Fmbz50Q5usS #codeofsupport #veteransupport #veteranservice #militaryfamilies #veteranfamilies #veteransuccess #veteranresources

Retired Military Special Needs Dad || I help military special needs families by highlighting quality of life issues
I honestly am tired of surveys. However, some surveys do provide useful information for leadership to action. The active duty and reserve Status of Forces Survey are available for public comment through the Federal Register. https://lnkd.in/gRPnQZ74 https://lnkd.in/gJMfGstp For the #military #specialneeds community, I had previously thought of the idea of including either #EFMP or SNP enrollment as a demographic question after listening to the last Military Family Readiness Council. #Militaryfamilies with dependents requiring special medical, mental, or educational supports need data to compare some of the #qualityoflife concerns that may impact our community more acutely. I encourage anyone that pays attention to the #exceptionalneeds community to provide comment asking for inclusion of this demographic question on the next survey. As a former veterans service representative, I witnessed firsthand the lack of preparation among veterans and their families for old age. While the Veterans Affairs (VA) does provide certain benefits such as long-term care and burial allowances, they often fall short of meeting the actual needs. The VA's aid and attendance program, for instance, fails to adequately cover caregiver expenses. Additionally, state long-term care facilities are usually fully booked, leaving veterans and their families facing lengthy waitlists. Today, I dedicate myself to assisting everyone in preparing for their future. It is alarming that discussions about long-term care and burial are often postponed until much later in life—sometimes, too late. It is crucial to address these matters earlier on and make appropriate plans to ensure that you and your families are well-prepared for the worst and challenges that come with aging. I focus on educating for financial literacy and let you take action.
