Which brings me to the #GOAT, our Store Manager Hiram Jimenez. Happy 6th Skechers-versary to youuu! You grew from a starter store and now running one of our top high-profile stores at Cabazon. Our daily sales goal was set at $6,493.00, and when I assumed the lead at 3 pm, we had already achieved $1,352.00 in sales since 10 am. Sales Breakdown: 3-4 pm: $443 4-5 pm: $1,034 5-6 pm: $392 6-7 pm (returns central): -$201 7-8 pm (closing): $1,389 In total, we generated $3,057 in sales over 5 hours. Notably, Pasadena experienced a thunderstorm from 3-6 pm. Traffic Comparison to Last Year (Percentage): 3-4: -3.4% 4-5: +16.7% 5-6: -69.4% 6-7: -46.9% 7-8: -11% Conversion Rates by Hour: 3-4: 28.6% 4-5: 21.4% 5-6: 26.7% 6-7: 35.3% 7-8: 31.3% Average Conversion: 28.6% Average Units Per Transaction (UPT): 1.36 Average UPT Value: $74 I strategically assigned tasks to 3 out of 4 team members, focusing on specific projects aligned with guest experience, go-backs, or store presentation. Autonomy was granted to the team member who remained proactive throughout. Tasks included reorganizing the scuba table, adjusting hanging heights for safety, and creating a more cohesive product display. Despite challenges like inventory system errors, higher refill numbers, and misplaced items, our product operations lead efficiently managed the situation. Our team's potential lies in a 360-degree vision and a commitment to swift action and education. A recent highlight involved an educator recognizing a stressed guest, addressing her needs, and securing a substantial purchase of nearly $1,000 in ABC pants. It was announced this week that Starbucks is dropping their "CMO" role. In an interesting development, Starbucks has decided to restructure their marketing department in a significant way as a part of a larger "transformation" process they are pursuing. But, did you know it's becoming more and more common for organizations to be doing away with the "CMO" role and opting instead for more functional specific roles that tie more directly into the grander business operations? This is without a doubt a notable shift happening in our industry, and I hope it's for the better of marketing departments/teams worldwide. If you've ever worked client-side you know how common it is for the marketing departments to be siloed, and the best marketing leaders are the ones that fight to break these silos. Forging a Lasting Legacy at My Store Today, on Father's Day, I'm reminded of the power of reflection and gratitude. My thoughts drift to my family, who inspire me daily, and to my Canadian Tire store family, a team of diverse and hard-working individuals who fill me with pride and appreciation. In the journey of a Canadian Tire Dealer, moving from one store to another is common, driven by financial and lifestyle choices. Throughout this journey, our guiding principle remains steadfast: to "leave the store better than when you found it." Among the accomplishments that bring me the greatest joy is the development of a strong, dedicated team and the implementation of strategies to recognize and reward their exceptional efforts. One of the most remarkable and unique aspects of Canadian Tire is our profit-sharing program for retail staff. This program allows Dealers to allocate a portion of the store's profits, based on performance and staff contributions, to be shared among the team. At the end of the year, Canadian Tire Corporation matches this amount. This initiative not only helps us attract top talent but also fosters a culture of shared success, enhancing retention and loyalty. When I first arrived at the store and discussed profit sharing, the staff's reaction was lukewarm. It became clear that they had little reason to care because they had rarely seen meaningful profit-sharing amounts in previous years. Since I took over the store, we've transformed this scenario by boosting sales and, more importantly, enhancing profitability through strategic management of wages and margins. This has resulted in our key contributors receiving substantial profit-sharing bonuses, with some earning over $6,000 a year when matched by the corporation. This significant amount forms a vital part of their overall compensation. We've accomplished many wonderful things at the store, but what fills me with the greatest pride is knowing that I will leave the store better for my staff than I found it. We've built a positive, thriving culture and provided profit sharing that truly impacts our staff's lives, creating a lasting legacy of shared success.

☕ CAFFEINE 🗣 CONVERSATIONS 🤝CONNECTIONS Time to get back at this... I was fortunate enough to reconnect with another friend and former colleague, Todd Schroeder, from my days at Energizer Batteries, now Energizer Holdings. While I was creating annual promotional plans for grocery retailers like Kroger, in which we were awarded #CategoryCaptaincy during my tenure, and Home Depot/Lowe’s in which I played an instrumental role in becoming the “Preferred Vendor” in batteries and flashlights for both retailers’ #hurricanepreparedness programs, Todd was building a #bestinclass #categorymanagement team supporting retail accounts like Walmart, Target, Walgreens, and other Grocery and Drug retailers. Todd went on to lead the Mass / Electronics channel for Energizer which included Target, Best Buy, Amazon and other key electronics retailers.  In 2015, he was promoted to VP Sales, North America where his role was eventually expanded to include all of the Canadian market where they secured Loblaw’s and Walmart Canada exclusivity driving Energizer’s Share of Market above 70% for the first time. Todd recently finished out a successful career at Energizer as the Vice President, Trade Development where he once again built up a best-in-class team of over 70 people that drove the Revenue Growth Management, Trade Marketing, Category Management and Retail Operations efforts helping Energizer navigate through the supply and commodity cost pressures that all CPGs experienced through the pandemic.   He is currently working with Covenant Technology Partners in a consulting capacity helping develop AI solutions for the real-world challenges that face CPG companies. Now, if you think that is impressive….before working with Energizer, Todd was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 17th round of the MLB Amateur Draft.  While interesting to talk baseball with him, it was equally interesting to hear how playing a sport, through college and professionally, shaped his work ethic, time management, and leadership skills. Todd grew up in Chicago a die-hard Cubs fan, but after living in the STL for so long, does he root for the Birds on the Bat, the Pirates or the Cubs? Set up time to network with him and maybe he will tell you. Todd is currently residing in St. Louis but is looking to move back to the Northwest Arkansas area to get closer to family. His focus is to get back on the sales leadership side of a consumer-packaged goods business. He brings over 24 years of leadership, best-in-class team building, trade marketing, and sales development which he crafted over the years all while at Energizer helping grow sales and build brand equity with one of THE TOP iconic brands in the world. Todd will be a fantastic addition to any company looking to expand its footprint in Walmart and Sam’s Club. Make sure you check out Todd Schroeder on LinkedIn.
