Congratulations to Samuel “Sam” Okoree on his Starfish award for patient care technicians (PCT). Sam is a PCT on the medical-surgical elder care unit at Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center. Sam was nominated for his extraordinary patient care. His nomination letter reads, “Sam is an extraordinary tech! He hit every RISE point and much more. I have been to this hospital many times and have had lengthy stays over the past 12 years battling my diverticulitis. I have had many techs, but none like Sam. His bedside manners and magnetic personality made my stay less stressful. Knowing that Sam was always just outside my room was comforting. He made sure to educate my wife and me about how obtaining my vital signs was so important in my recovery. He made my wife and me feel very comfortable."
