After a 27-year journey, I voluntarily retired from Intel last month. Reflecting on this milestone, I am filed with a sense of completeness. My career traced the history of Intel scaling compute technology everywhere and touching the lives of millions. From the early days of media-rich Pentium PCs to leading the deployment of groundbreaking technologies like USB, WIFI, fiber optics, high-speed Ethernet, Data Center virtualization, Cloud, and AI, my career has been an incredible adventure. What motivated me to make a career at Intel was the opportunity to craft a product strategy role where I could influence and lead the industry's roadmap, development, and scale of the next critical technology alongside thousands of dedicated collaborators. Working at the foundation of the IT stack—the silicon and software that underpins everything else—brought me immense satisfaction Recently, as I observed the pervasive impact of technology on our world, I realized that my role and time at Intel had reached its natural conclusion. It's time to pursue new opportunities to empower broader adoption of AI I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the brightest and kindest people across every segment in our industry. While raising a family in beautiful Oregon, I cultivated friendships that span the globe. To all those who have played a part in my journey—whether through collaboration, education, mentoring or shared laughter—thank you. Your partnership was invaluable, and I am deeply grateful for the experiences we've shared together. Shout out to Harley Spring Rob Hays and Naveen Rao who took the time to coach me and role modeled everyday. In this new phase, each day has presented opportunities for self-discovery and surprise. Rather than viewing this period as "time off," I see it as "my time on," where every moment is a chance to explore, listen and be. Questions We Often Ask Ourselves "Why Me?" Have you ever found yourself grappling with this question, especially in times of crises, challenges, or disorder? I underwent a significant shift in perspective during my early years of career at Satin Credit Care Network Limited, where I had the privilege to learn from the founder, Mr. HP Singh. It was during one of our strategy workshop sessions that Mr. Singh imparted a profound insight: "RIOTS/ CRISES are good." This statement was an eye-opener for me, as it challenged the conventional view of adversity and presented it as an opportunity for growth. R.I.O.T.S., as I understood, stood for resilience, initiatives, opportunities, threats, and, of course, a great re-start. This mindset shift encouraged me to view challenges not as obstacles but as hidden opportunities waiting to be discovered. I have embraced challenges as allies on my journey of personal and professional growth. Recently, while reflecting on Mr. Jensen Huang's candid speech at Stanford University, where the founder of Nvidia spoke openly about pain and suffering with "great glee," I couldn't help but draw parallels to my own experiences. Witnessing Nvidia's remarkable journey so closely, from its humble beginnings to its extraordinary growth, has not just been truly inspiring but financially rewarding for me. #failure: we’ve all felt it before. In 2019, I wanted to give up, I reached my lowest-low but I decided to give it a "last push" and I grew the business by 2300% since. I was listening yesterday to a speech of Jensen Huang, NVIDIA's CEO who was wishing Stanford grads "pain and suffering". He said that if you want greatness in your company, you need character, character is formed out of people who suffered and basically who failed. It is so true. We don’t build #resilience out of wins we build it through failures. The feeling of failure shapes us; when we have reached a stepping stone that opens the path to future #success. We don’t start over from scratch each time. We build on what we’ve already learned, mostly from failure and we bounce back from it, every single time, a little higher. Nothing motivates us harder than giving it the "last push" , the wake-up call of of never dropping the ball unless we have tried hard, a thousand times. So next time we fail we should be thankful to an opportunity to master our #resilience and work on our #comeback, because we owe it to ourselves 💪 #thebowerycompany #motivation
