🎶 On Friday, June 14, LVHN hosted its first-ever fundraising event for Lehigh Valley Hospital–Carbon, featuring the incredible Bruce In The USA! This top Bruce Springsteen tribute band helped us raise nearly $50,000 for LVH–Carbon through ticket sales and the generosity of 12 event sponsors. Held at the iconic Penn’s Peak, it was a night to remember! 🌟 LVHN Northwest Region President Terry Purcell and LVH–Carbon President Christine Biege, BSN, expressed their gratitude to everyone who attended. “The funds we raise tonight through ticket and raffle sales will help make the Greater Carbon community healthier,” said Purcell. As part of 'Subaru Loves to Care' Month, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society teamed up with local Subaru dealers to deliver blankets and care kits filled with hope and thoughtful messages to cancer patients at Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute. This past month, they visited the John and Dorothy Morgan Cancer Center at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, the Cancer Center at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hazleton, and the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Pocono. From a wrist injury to a state champion again! 🌟 Kelsey Silva, an 11-year-old gymnastics star, faced a tough fall last August that could have ended her season. After slipping on an AirTrack and fracturing her wrist at the growth plate, Kelsey underwent a specialized surgery thanks to her amazing care team at Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute and Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. Kelsey's journey of recovery and determination paid off with the support of orthopedic hand surgeon Paul Sibley, DO, FAOAO, pediatric orthopedic specialist Barry Berger, MD and her dedicated coaches. 🌟✨ Honoring Juneteenth: A Day of Freedom and Reflection ✨🌟   Observed annually on June 19, Juneteenth—also known as Black Independence Day, Freedom Day, or Jubilee Day—marks the end of slavery in the United States. While it has recently gained widespread recognition, African Americans have celebrated Juneteenth since the 1800s. In 2019, Pennsylvania designated it as Juneteenth National Freedom Day, and in 2021, it became a federal holiday. 🇺🇸   At LVHN, we proudly celebrated diversity by sponsoring the 2nd annual LVHN Juneteenth event on June 8.
