We have been made aware that some charities and non-profit organisations are fundraising in East Sussex although they do not provide support in this area. They are often found in town centres and supermarkets. This stops vital funds from being donated local charities and non – profit organisations, limiting their crucial services. The above are some simple questions you can ask to make sure you know that your money is being spent honestly and in your area. A telltale sign is when a paid fundraiser is being used, they are employed (often across county lines) to fundraise with little training or knowledge of the services provided locally. This is a time of giving and we absolutely encourage contributions to your chosen organisations – we know that big or small, they all make a huge difference.
