Are you feeling sophisticated this Sunday? It's National Whiskey Sour Day! Whether you like your sour frothy or plain, it's a pretty sophisticated drink. Either style, we like ours served up in this beautiful ANCHOR HOCKING CONSUMER GLASS CORPORATION Clarisse rocks glass or this elegant Connexion glass from the Anchor Hocking Ocean line. The whiskey sour has its origins in the 19th century when sailors mixed whiskey with citrus to help prevent scurvy and to make their spirits more palatable. The addition of egg whites creates a frothy texture and smooths out the flavors. Cheers! . . . . #whiskeysourday #whiskeylovers #craftcocktails #mixology #sundaysips #soursunday #drinkhistory #sophisticatedsips

Hampden 8-Year Rum 🕰 The world of brown spirits is full of excellent options with a wide array of different #flavors to explore. you can find bottles that will align with your preferred flavor profile, and that's part of the beauty. When it comes to Dark And Sweet Rums, I'd like to suggest: Hampden 8-Year #Rum. 👃🏽Nose: The nose on Hampden's 8-Year expression is soaring with figs and apples on top of the high-ester influence that Jamaican rums are famed for. There's a touch of lavender, dense oak tones, molasses, and even a touch of grassiness to be found in the aroma notes. This is a pungent, funky rum, to be sure. The flavors here should have a lot of appeal to #bourbon fans who are used to proofy, complex pours with a dark and sweet backbone. 🔥 Cheers, and Drink Responsibly! . #blc #brownliquorconnoisseur #mixology #tastemaker #mixologist #LuxurySpirits #BourbonLovers #FineDining #TopShelfSpirits

The Art of Barrel Aging: Enhancing the Complexity of Spirits Barrel aging is a critical process in the production of fine spirits, such as whiskey, rum, and brandy. This process enhances the complexity and depth of flavors. Key aspects of barrel aging include: Wood Type: Oak is the most commonly used wood, contributing flavors like vanilla, caramel, and spice. Toasting and Charring: The interior of barrels is toasted or charred to varying degrees, affecting flavor development. Aging Duration: The length of time spirits spend in the barrel influences their smoothness and complexity. Environmental Factors: Temperature and humidity levels impact the aging process and flavor extraction. Barrel aging is both an art and a science, requiring careful monitoring and expertise to achieve the desired results. #BarrelAging #Spirits #Whiskey #Rum #Brandy #CraftDistilling

Available in Massachusetts! “Family Reserve Old Rum has been produced in various expressions since 2003, and was originally created exclusively for members of the Gosling family and bottled once annually. Typically this is a traditional blended rum, sourced from both column and pot still selections, aged in Bermuda in ex-bourbon barrels. The latest expression, however, heads in a decidedly different direction: Family Reserve Old Rum Rye Barrel Finish is, as the name would imply, finished with at least three years in U.S. rye whiskey barrels instead. Specifically, it blends rye barrels filled in 2018, 2019 and 2020. The rums in the makeup are unknown, although Goslings is speculated to be primarily column still distillate, possibly from Trinidad, mixed with pot still juice from elsewhere. This one is bottled at the basic 40% ABV (80 proof), with an MSRP of roughly $80, a bit on the high side for something without a concrete age statement or elevated proof, but that’s the price you pay for special glass bottles and unusual cask finishes these days.” #oldrumryefinish #goslings #castlebrands

By the stem, not the bowl ❌ That's the correct way to hold a wine glass. Here's why: 1️⃣ In the case of delicate glasses, you stand a risk of breaking them by holding them by the bowl. 2️⃣ Holding the wine glass by the bowl for a longer period of time will also transfer the heat from your hands to the glass and warm up your wine. 3️⃣ If you hold your wine glass by its bowl, then you'll leave greasy smudges all over it and it won't look very appealing. Now there are multiple ways to hold a wine glass by its stem: You can use your thumb and index finger along with your middle finger to grab the stem. Or you can pinch the glass near the base with your thumb and index finger, and put your remaining fingers under the base for additional support. Did you know there's another way to stylishly hold your wine glass? All you have to do is place your thumb on the base of glass and pinch it from the other side using your index finger. 💐 5 #Ettiquette You Must Know Before Holding A #WineGlass Have you been invited to dinner where you will be drinking wine? ⚡️Advice: Don't throw etiquette to the wind once your wine is poured in your glass. 📚The last thing you should be worried about is being judged by how you hold a glass. Instead of fighting or ignoring the issue, arm yourself with a few civilized ways to hold a wine glass. Pull off the look of a #wine connoisseur and you might just become one. ⚡️The Why: • #Social #Appearance: No greasy hand prints on the bowl. • Temperature: Wine stays cooler longer. ⚡️The How: 🔅1. Handle the stem: Grasp the wine glass by its #stem. The stem is the long, slender part that connects the base of the glass to the #bowl. 🔅2. Hold the #glass towards the base of the stem: Place your thumb on one side of the stem, and rest your index and middle fingers on the other side, slightly above the base of the glass. This grip allows you to hold the glass securely while minimizing heat transfer from your hand to the wine. 🔅3. Avoid touching the bowl: Try not to touch the bowl of the wine glass with your hand. Touching the bowl can leave #fingerprints and also increase the temperature of the wine, which may affect its taste. 🔅4. Maintain a gentle grip: Remember to hold the glass #gently and avoid gripping it too tightly. A light hold allows the wine to breathe and the aromas to develop while you swirl the wine in the glass. 🔅5. Use the glass stem for #swirling: When you want to swirl the wine in the glass to release its aromas, do it by gently rotating the glass on the table or by holding the stem between your fingers and making circular motions. This helps to aerate the wine and enhances its #flavours. ⚡️✨ “Etiquette is the ceremonial code of polite life, more voluminous and minute in each portion of society according to its rank.” ~John Ramsay McCulloch ~~~~~~~~ 🌞How did you navigate the wine experience?
