Amazing listening to the speakers during this event. The three biggest takeaways from the speakers was: 1. Most successful people are not smarter than you they were just in the right ecosystem and had the right people around them (you could argue that being "smart" is simply putting yourself in a position for opportunities to arise) 2. I believe that there is way too much pressure on quick and instant exits, and this doesn't give startups ample time for market penetration and consolidation. This is why I advise first or second-time founders not to disrupt but to build a fast-to-market and fast-to-product-market-fit product, either by contributing to an existing vertical or by extending availability to a market segment. Founders and VCs should be able to have a long-term plan for continuous deal collaborations post pre-seed until market consolidation. Facebook, Airbnb, Uber, Amazon are all examples of startups that didn't show signs of profits early; in fact, they ran in the red for years before market consolidation. Facebook is notorious for not monetising for the first few years. I agree that timing and economic conditions play an important role in all these as well. It's hard to build, but with the right mindset, integrity, focus and collaborations, anything is possible.

After collaborating with numerous angel investors and family offices in MENA, I've noticed a trend where some less experienced investors aim for large ownership stakes in early-stage startups. This can backfire as it limits the startup's ability to raise future rounds and maintain control, both investors and founders need to understand that balancing early-stage funding with a healthy cap table is crucial for long-term success.

Learning to move and grow within your own temporary limitations is an asset in itself. Whether we are talking about the company you are currently involved with or your own personal growth, knowing your limitations is the only way to surpass them, bars always push back the strongest in the brink of shattering. Limitations lead to resourcefulness, and that's the key to long term success
