𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗔 𝗜𝗦 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘! 🚀 The idea of Schola is deeply personal to me. Schola is built on the premise that "You cannot be what you don't know." My dad was a rubber tapper and later a technician, and my mum, a housewife. Growing up, what I thought the world was and what was available to me was fairly limited. But everything changed when I got lucky with a Scholarship. That scholarship didn’t just pay for my education—it altered the course of my life. What I’ve come to realise is that choices, in my case the choices we make after high school, can set us on completely different paths. But those choices aren’t simple; they’re deeply intertwined with the barriers we face, the information we have, and the belief in what’s possible. I know that luck (with INCREDIBLE family & friends) and a series of privileges played a massive role in getting me to where I am today. It’s a sobering thought because I don’t want anyone to have to rely on luck to succeed. That’s why I’m so passionate about Schola. I believe deeply that early exposure to different careers and pathways can change lives. When your worldview expands, so do your possibilities. Our mission at Schola is to change how students discover careers and make decisions after high school. We want to increase their exposure to different paths and help them believe that these careers are within their reach. Talent and potential are everywhere, but opportunities are not—and we’re here to change that. But we also acknowledge that exposure alone isn’t enough. This is just the beginning of what we’re doing.
