Houston, we (had a problem) 😬 Our client was a busy professional managing two side hustle businesses and a family. Her plate was full, and her team was facing a lot of challenges. We knew we could help, but how? Here's the nitty gritty of what we did to turn it all around: 📅 We sit down weekly to map out her week, ensuring no detail is overlooked. 📩 No more missed meetings—we handle all appointment confirmations. 📝 Contracts for new events are sent out months in advance, eliminating last-minute rushes. 💻 We created an event page on her website, which is now filling up with profitable events. The result? She’s no longer in reactive mode. With deliberate planning, she even managed to take *three weeks* off this summer without significant impacts on her businesses. Now THAT'S what we call a client success story! 🙌

Allow me to speak to this post, individual and our relationship. About 10 years ago when I worked for AFR Furniture Rental I met Alex Carvalho, CMP, DES it was my first PCMA Northern California Chapter meeting and I was seated at her table. I didn't know anyone there. Then, Brian Bouchelle introduced us to one another. Alex looked me dead in the eye & said, "And who are you?" And if you know her, you can imagine the look on her face & her tone, LOL! At that time, she knew nothing about AFR. Then, she sent me my first opportunity to work with her & her company. This began what has become more than just a client/vendor relationship. Since my AFR days, Alex has stuck with me through all my moving around & we've built a personal relationship on top of this. When people ask me about sales as a career & how they get scared, I always tell them it's because you're looking at it as a numbers game. And it TOTALLY is. However, I always then share, that first & foremost, you're 'selling' yourself. Then you're offering the relationship. And this is how I've been able to connect & work with individuals like Alex. This picture was taken this past Saturday at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as we were a part of history watching University of Southern California play their final game ever against Stanford University, and what an AWESOME experience that was. Do I appreciate her business? Of course I do. However, what I cherish & what we'll always have after the show is over, is our relationship. Our friendship. The laughter. The support. And all of the memories we've created over the last 10 years. So, to Brian, I thank you. And to you, Alex, I can honestly say, nothing but LOVE for you!! PS... Sorry you got sun burnt that day! 🤦🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ MC&A #friendsforlife #clientforlife #meetingprofs #meetingsmeanbusiness #relationships #relationshipsmatter #meetingsindustry #meetingplanners #appreciationpost #appreciation #thankful #grateful

(Marketing 101 on June 12 seats still available) • Attended the first Bites and Insights event that we are sponsoring, shoutout: Kyle Barron, Ed.D. • Ran into a former intern in her next adventure. • I lost some motivation this afternoon and missed some goals. • Worked on social for a client's campaign. • Planned tomorrow (no meetings, just working, looking forward to it). • AS I WROTE THIS WE SOLD SOMETHING. At Legal Ops Uncensored - we don't just like diversity, we enforce it. Our events are open to anyone in the ecosystem - student, vendor, in-house/firm leader, start-up founders, engineers... you name it. For free. Why? Because we know what when you put a diverse group of people in the same room, anything can happen. You might walk away having met your next partner, customer, employee or mentor... who knows? We provide unlimited possibility - and prioritize inclusion over everything (yes, everything). And why would you settle for anything less? We don't curate. We don't gatekeep. We'd rather skip the meal if someone is left in the cold. We provide incredible content, local venues and gather fascinating people (Hint: all of you) - and the rest is magic. It's working pretty well. If you want to come check out what makes us unique, grab a free membership online (we are on Slack/WhatsApp!) or join us at one of our virtual or in-person events! ❤️

You Can't Do Events In August Jon!! This is what everyone told me... I was told: – No one will come to events in August – People aren't engaged in August – Kids are off from school – People are on Holiday Here's what happened... Most events in August were either cancelled or had ridiculously low attendance. I'm talking 8 - 10 people showing up. Not my event! I had over 40 people show up, and they paid twice as much as they would have paid to attend most other events. Here's why. I worked my ass off! – I messaged people daily – I emailed them – I called them – I worked Most people spend so much time looking for a shortcut. Here's the shortcut... Hard work! Get clear on what you want, pick one path, and work your ass off with an unwavering belief you can achieve it.

Another day (almost) over 🙌 At the end of the day do you think back on what you did, what you achieved, and what could have been done differently? What about the things you need to add to your to-do list because of what happened or didn't happen during the day? Then there's the, I heard about something interesting today that I want to learn more about. I do all of the above, but try not to get bogged down in the 'woulda coulda shoulda' moments. My takeaways from today and after a few discussions I had today, I'm putting my focus on two items that have been on my to-do list for a while instead of just thinking and talking about them:- 1. Seek someone to help me improve my public speaking skills. 2. Find someone who can help me improve my networking skills. I'm not completely rubbish on either, but, certainly room for improvement. So now, to seek out people that I admire who do either or both well, or if you have the gift of either I love to learn from you 🌱
