What an incredible gift! The Harold Alfond Foundation has announced a $75.5 million investment in The Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine's Workforce. Over the next five years, this gift will fund short-term workforce training through the Maine Community College System, including SMCC. These programs will help Mainers enter high-demand fields and advance their careers at no cost. We're grateful for the opportunity to contribute to making a meaningful impact on Maine's workforce, our dedicated workforce teams and the Harold Alfond Foundation's commitment to Maine's future. What a full circle story. Should be made into a movie. Just a prime example of how in one lifetime you can change generational outcomes. But if you surveyed 100 high school students or college kids they probably have very little idea of who Harold Alfond was or how he accomplished what he did. The man was a force.

That’s awesome, great incentive to invest in your own people

This is an incredible investment in Maine's future -- AND in Maine's present. These gains are, for many people, almost immediate. So many thanks to the Harold Alfond Foundation for their continued investment in Maine's people.
