The National Basketball Association (NBA) All Star Weekend in Indy was a remarkable event filled with all things bougie and basketball. But it wasn't just about the glitz and glamour, it was also about giving back. Did you know that 1 in 5 children in Indiana don't know where their next meal is coming from? Pacers Sports & Entertainment partnered with the NBA and the Million Meal Movement (MMM) to bring the first-ever 24-hour NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service to fight hunger in Indiana. They brought together 6,000 volunteers to pack ONE MILLION meals to be distributed to food pantries throughout Indiana. I had the privilege of being a part of this event. We packed rice casserole in bags while wearing hairnets, but we had a DJ spinning great music - much needed at 5am 🕔. I didn't see any celebrities, but I did make two connections with two cool ladies. I wasn’t aware of MMM until this weekend. There are two things that I'd give to kids if I had children of my own. 1) a good education. Having a good education with additional extras like a love of reading (turn that TV off! ) and investments into educational activities 2) A positive attitude with lots of praise and accountability. When you instill your kids with a postive mental and emotional attitude as with lots of praise and the expectation to have accountability then you know that no matter what life tosses in their way they'll have the ability to find a positive solution to the problem as well as being accountable for whatever they say and do. 3) maybe a third thing is the obligation and choice to contribute in any way to help other and their community and not think only of themselves and what they can gain. Joining Scouts Canada, or Military/Police cadets, volunteering in the community and helping their neighbours or for events at school teaches them responsibility, accountability and helps them to show compassion for others. Thats how I try to live my life today and set an example for others to see and learn from.

🚀 Excited to share that I had the opportunity to contribute to a published journal titled "A Framework for Blockchain and Internet of Things Integration in Improving Food Security in the Food Supply Chain." In this paper, we explore how the integration of Blockchain and IoT technologies can enhance transparency, traceability, and efficiency in the food supply chain, ultimately improving food security. 🌾🔗 Proud to have been a part of this meaningful research that addresses critical issues in the global food supply chain.
