It is a summer of transitions. Coming to Flikshop in the fall of 2022, I had no idea what to expect, but I knew that life was about to go from 0 to 60mph very, very quickly. I knew I was coming to work with an amazing team, under an incredible leader, and despite being a rookie in the tech space- I knew that I was up for the challenge. I wish I could share with you just how much I learned in my time as VP of Operations at Flikshop, but at my core, I think these are the 3 greatest lessons Marcus Bullock instilled in me during our time together: 1. Lean in. Lean into challenges. Lean into empathy. Lean into hard work, difficult conversations, your own potential, discomfort, and opportunity. Never walk away from a project or conversation without asking, "What can I learn from this experience?" and use that question to make yourself and the world, better. 2. Fail Forward. As a recovering people-pleaser I was always worried I would drop the ball, or fail to meet expectations. Marcus likes to say "I LOVE when we fail. This is where the magic happens. This is where we learn, and we come back and do it even better." Every failure is a learning opportunity and a step towards something amazing. 3. Have faith. Have faith that you can change the world. Have faith in what you are building. Have faith in the strengths that God has given you. Have faith in what He has called to you to do. Have faith that He will see you through it and equip you along the way. Have faith in yourself. Have faith, even when the tide seems against you. I could never fully express how grateful I am to have had the chance to work for and alongside this one-of-a-kind entrepreneur, and our outstanding team. Y'all. To celebrate 9 months of keshty, I did a thing. 🚢 Introducing our first company video, folks! While this is a mega personal milestone, I want to be clear: nailing down the keshty offer did NOT come easy at the start. I spoke to 100+ founders and asked the same 2 questions: 1. What's keeping you up at night? 2. What scares you about taking on a fractional vs. full time exec? I listened. Intently and curiously. People I highly respect advised against fractional. Others told me I'd be limiting myself by working exclusively with minority founders. But ultimately, I had to live by something I'd be proud of every day. I took all suggestions into account and practiced every iteration of my elevator pitch to literally anyone who'd listen. The first couple hundred (yes, HUNDRED) fell flat. In Month 4, we had our snowball moment. In Month 9, we have a video. Rome wasn't built in a day. Neither was keshty - and that's how we like it. Holy 💩! Today is the TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY of The Squad 🤯. There are too many incredible memories to count, but a few come to mind: 👉 Launching with 27 founding members (and the EPIC launch party) 👉 Our three (!!!) incredible conferences. 👉 Creating the Grab Life by the Goals® method. 👉 The Happiness Sprints, Quit Dickin' Around challenges, Launch That Shit bootcamp, and hundreds of other experiences together. 👉 Watching our membership grow from coast-to-coast. 👉 Spending 2 years getting the format and programming *just right*. 👉 Our members forming true, deep friendships. 👉 All the damn GOALS accomplished! Business, personal, career, relationships, wellness, creative pursuits...I literally have an enormous spreadsheet of them. 👉 Two years of Squadsgiving parties! 👉 The magic on the weekly calls: The wins, struggles, and breakthroughs 👉 The fact that we still have founding members in here TWO YEARS LATER. 👉 The collaborations: People hiring each other, promoting each other, partnering up, on each others' podcasts, etc. 👉 Even after people roll out, I see our alumni continuing to partner and support each other. This shit lasts. 👉 The incredible testimonials of how this space has changed people's lives. I have to thank Shawn Widrick. This was actually his idea to create a space were we do it ALL: Community, Coaching, Courses, and Crazy-Fun Events. Thank you to Jessica Lackey, my COO for 2+ years, without whom this would not exist. Jen Olin Lafontaine who played a crucial role in the success of our Summits and Squad. And our beloved Community Manger Jessie Germain who has been here since day 1 loving on our members. Becky Brunner and Mandy Parkinson are my brilliant tech, ops + strategy team helping me build the next evolution of the company. And of course...EVERY member of the Squad over the last 2 years. You are everything to me. I mean that. 🥹🥹🥹 I'm also celebrating myself today! Nothing like this existed on the market, and I took it from idea to REAL in 2 months flat...and kept it alive for 2 YEARS. There were ups and downs, epic fails, and self-doubt...but I didn't quit.
