“I'm inspired by a future where transportation relies less on privately owned internal combustion vehicles” Continuing our series featuring Professionals in Sustainability, meet Sharny Mullally, Senior Operations Manager at Uber. She shares insights on sustainability and her vision for the future of transportation. 1️⃣ What is one person or organisation you follow that inspires you in your career & why? Not a person or organisation, and maybe this is biased, but I'm really inspired by Uber’s ‘One Less Car Initiative’ in Australia. It aims to reduce private car ownership and usage in major cities, promoting increased reliance on public transport, walking, cycling, and Uber/taxi services when necessary. I'm inspired by a future where transportation relies less on privately owned internal combustion vehicles. 2️⃣ If you could make one change in the world that would help your sector what would it be? More government investment in electric vehicle subsidies, particularly for low to medium-income earners, and in building public charging infrastructure. 3️⃣ What is one concept that has most helped you in your role & why? Customer centricity, always thinking about the customer experience and ensuring sustainability strategies align with the best possible customer experience. Full interview on our website! (Link in the comments below) We’ll keep sharing more stories like Sharny’s. Who would you like to hear from next? Learn how to apply sustainability concepts to your role with The Curve Sustainability. Our next cohort starts on the 16th of September!

Earlier this year, we launched our Sustainability Microsite to transparently communicate our progress towards achieving our long-term goals. In our latest update, we’ve enriched the content by including additional details and metrics, as well as presenting the recent Sustainability Report in an accessible, easy-to-read format. At Škoda Auto, we are committed to minimising our environmental footprint, driving sustainable growth, and making a positive impact on society. But this isn’t a journey we’re taking alone; our partners play a crucial role. And that’s precisely why I believe it’s vital to continuously offer a comprehensive overview of our activities. You can find a link to the page in the comments below. I’m curious to know – how does your organisation tackle the sometimes challenging task of communicating #sustainability to all your stakeholders?
