Many new salespeople struggle with commission breath…. This is how to get rid of it FOREVER: Treat every customer as if they are a client seeking your expertise, not just someone to sell something to. One of my favorite ways to genuinely understand a customer's needs is by asking this question: “On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 means subpar and 10 means perfect, how would you rate [insert specific question]?” For example: “On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate the productivity of your sales team? Here are two reasons why I love asking this kind of question: 1. Clarity and Insight: It quickly reveals my clients’ levels of satisfaction and areas of concern. 2. Targeted Conversations: Based on their response, I can dive deeper with questions like: ✔️ What do you think would improve this rating? ✔️ What changes would bring this up to an 8 or 9? ✔️ What makes this a 10, and are there any potential threats? The highest performing sales professionals are not in the business of just conducting transactions. They are working to solve their customers’ most urgent and important problems.
