Regional Manager, Continuous Improvement and Best Business Practices / Manufacturing Excellence Business Partner / Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt / KT Program Leader. MX/US CI Operations

Last week, I convened a group of Industrial Engineers and Continuous Improvement Professionals from manufacturing plants across Adient Seat Structures & Mechanisms' México at SS&M Tlaxcala. Alongside them were members of Adient America's Lean Manufacturing team, led by Lawana Fair, for a workshop on optimizing and rebalancing the workload of our Material Handlers and Water Spiders. It was fascinating to explore how even in a plant with minimal waste, there are still opportunities to streamline functions and collaboratively discover new ways to organize the replenishment of raw materials to their points of use. This process of refining what already works well embodies the principles of Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence. As we gear up to onboard new programs in the near term, these preparatory analyses empower us to implement Lean processes that operate without waste from the first piece produced through the entire program lifecycle. A big 'Thank You' to the SS&M México team for their ongoing support in facilitating these exercises during the launch preparation phases. And gratitude to our Corporate Team for taking the time to visit, walk through the process, and share the best practices observed in other Business Units within our company.
