🇺🇸 I will be in NYC May 28 and 29, let's meet! I have been invited for a keynote and panel moderation at the Realtime Fan Engagement Summit by Ably at Amazon Web Services (AWS) offices in midtown Manhattan on the 29th, as a start of my collaboration with Ably. The realtime aspect of fan engagement has always been front and center in my product strategies as in sports, that is not a "nice-to-have" but the native core element of what makes sport still the most exciting experience for people globally. The big tech and social media companies have spoiled fans and users, by super-serving them with rich, highly-responsive interactive experiences. If you want to play the same game for your own&operated products you need to get at the same level. I also have been kind of struggling through the years to find solid, market standard and scalable platforms to power those experiences. Custom made solutions or temporary ad-hoc aggregation of tools are normally problematic for three reasons: 1. They are cumbersome to put together and often under-deliver when live 2. In case of successful high traffic they normally do not sustain the scale or make costs skyrocket 3.
