This Garden Isn’t Finished Without You: RHS Flower Show Tatton Park from 17 to 21 July 2024 Let’s face it, no garden is ever really finished. How can it be when everything in it just keeps growing and changing? But, we’ve deliberately created space for the visitors to RHS Flower Show Tatton Park to add a flower to the garden – a flower that represents who they are. Reflecting on Pride: A Message of Gratitude. As we celebrate diversity and advocate for equality, some may wonder about the absence of a ‘Straight Pride’ movement. It’s important to recognize that the very need for Pride events stems from a history of struggle, a fight for the right to exist and love openly without fear of persecution. So, if you find yourself questioning why ‘Straight Pride’ isn’t a thing, take a moment to be thankful. Be thankful that your love, your rights, and your identity have never been up for debate. Be thankful that you’ve never had to fight for the simple freedom to be yourself. Pride is not about exclusion; it’s about creating a world where everyone can celebrate who they are without the need for a movement. As we’re coming to the end of this Pride Month, I wanted share some thoughts. Above all I’m here to learn how I can best support my LGBTIQ+ colleagues. 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 And this was a key focus of our recent leadership panel discussion on allyship. During this session, we discussed topics including the needs of colleagues in different regions, the importance of psychological safety, and how to drive tangible action on LGBTIQ+ inclusion.   One action we’ve taken recently is reaffirming our commitment to the LGBTIQ+ Standards of Conduct for Business by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).   In line with this commitment, it’s my goal to ensure that the voices of LGBTIQ+ colleagues are heard, that their needs are addressed, and that everyone can be their authentic selves. Not just in Pride Month, but all year round.   I want to be a CEO of a company where everybody feels they can be themselves. Where you can be ‘you’, and where we are united for progress — creating a safe space for all, celebrating diversity, and staying curious about each other’s experiences.
