The AgriFood Growth & Water Abundance cluster AGWA Abu Dhabi launched by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development exemplifies the imperative need to enhance natural capital. A timely, commendable and impactful initiative - highlighting a deserving focus on food and water security. As reported “By 2045, Agwa is expected to contribute Dh90 billion in incremental gross domestic product to the Abu Dhabi economy, create more than 60,0000 new jobs and attract Dh128 billion in investments” As a key enabler of food trade and logistics, the Abu Dhabi Food Hub is set to complement the food security ambitions of the UAE by establishing an unmatched ecosystem for local and international trade. UAE National Food Security Strategy 2051: “The National Strategy for Food Security aims to make the UAE the world’s best in the Global Food Security Index by 2051 and among the top 10 countries by 2021. AGWA aims to capture opportunities in the growing global #food and #water industry, which is expected to reach AED77.4 trillion by 2045. The cluster will create a regulatory environment that can accelerate Abu Dhabi's ambition to become a leading global food and water hub. The organizations will collaborate to build regulatory #frameworks and #support mechanisms that enable more efficient and effective solutions in #agriculture, food, and water. AGWA will support local suppliers and exporters, ensuring a reliable and resilient supply chain for food and water.
