Over these 7 weeks, me and my team will be building 5 AI projects that will contribute to my final project that will take a startup's current backlogs and rebuild it to meet the business requirements. I am most excited about improving my programming skills, portfolio and interview prep. I look forward to sharing my journey and growth over next few weeks. From Code to Leadership: 🔹My journey into the tech world took an exciting turn in my junior year when I tackled a simple yet widespread problem: stale lunchboxes at school. To solve this, I developed an application to streamline lunch delivery from home to school. This evolved into my startup, HungryBirds - "You cook, we deliver." 🔸We designed a customized routing algorithm for efficient delivery, minimizing both cost and travel time. With three citywide base stations, we proudly served over 100+ customers. This journey was more than a business; it was a lesson in applying CS to create impactful, real-world solutions. 🔹Leading a team, I deeply connected with the human side of software engineering. I learned the art of empathy, and understanding each member's unique strengths and challenges. This experience enriched my leadership style, making me a more compassionate and effective leader, qualities that are just as vital as coding skills in the collaborative world of software engineering. I recently attended Headstarter's Pathways to Tech event, featuring an incredible lineup of speakers from Ruby, AMD, DataLogs, and Lunchbox. Here are my key takeaways: 1.Persistence is crucial: Every speaker emphasized the importance of perseverance in the face of challenges. 2.Problem-solving skills matter: Technical knowledge is important, but the ability to solve real-world problems is what truly sets candidates apart. 3.Networking is key: Building relationships in the industry can open doors and create opportunities. 4.Embrace failure: Learning from failures is an essential part of growth in tech and entrepreneurship. 5.Soft skills are vital: Collaboration and communication are just as important as technical abilities. My favorite speaker was Sharar from Ruby. His journey from college projects to co-founding a fintech startup was truly inspiring. With Headstarter's partnership with Ruby, I'm excited to prioritize my time in the Fellowship to maximize my chances of getting hired: 1.Focus on building impactful AI projects that solve real problems in fintech. 2.Actively participate in hackathons to showcase my problem-solving skills. Dedicate time to mastering both algorithmic thinking and practical software engineering. 3.Engage with the Headstarter community to build my network and learn from peers. 4.Seek mentorship opportunities to gain insights into Ruby's culture and expectations. So I have some news to share. I am now a Headstarter Software Engineering Fellow!
