Waiting for a client at a restaurant my eye caught the back of The New York Times and the sentence: “THE RACE NEVER STOPS”. This sentence served as an analogy throughout our entire meeting, as it is indeed highly applicable in the field of medical drug development both in terms of the organization, the pipeline, and any key capacity - hence also applicable for the complex dynamics, when holding significant responsibilities within such an organization and global therapeutic areas. Let’s talk about how this analogy can actually be transferred. Many decisions are binary, however conducted in a highly complex environment in a field in which the information, data, and stakeholders are seldom. Decisions have to be made on a road yet not paved with concrete, not even laying the concrete while travelling, but inventing the recipe for the concrete and continuously finetuning, changing, adapting, and maybe even pioneering this as the world and path progress. This combined with a vast amount of internal- and external key stakeholder dynamics one has to be very clear on every choice made. Choices potentially impacting millions of patients’ lives, national GNP’s, employees, families, and continuously staying focused with one’s clear objectives. Hence, it is also very important to know and decide exactly what races to be part of and when. When to step out, re-align, maybe even kill your darlings and re-enter. It is also about defining and inventing races yet not build, having the guts in your stomach to initiate, change, or frontier races no one has done before and staying true to your values throughout. Finally, the race is also personal. All great achievements, inventions, and contributions are not single person made. They are made by teams, by organizations, by collaborations and in this game world-wide collaborations. Hence, there is also a personal choice in choosing what race to be part of, what team to be part of, what contribution to be part of, what context to be part of and when and how to be part of it. The race never stops. But nor does the choice of how and when to not only be part of it but to frontier it. As I start my summer vacation, I am filled with gratitude for the chance to see María Soledad Sepúlveda again here in 🇨🇭(Since last year, both of us have been living in Europe) She has been a great leader and a guiding light in my career at #Pharma. One of the best things about having worked at #Pfizer was the lasting friendships I've made 🩵 When I was nearly 24, I was working in the Regulatory area; Sole noticed something in me. She believed in my potential and invited me to join her team in Marketing (in the digital marketing area) . That moment, 8 years ago, started a journey that changed my life 🫶 Today, as I look back, I am deeply thankful. Sole didn't just give me a job; she gave me the courage to dream bigger and the tools to achieve those dreams. Her mentorship has been priceless, offering me guidance, support, and the occasional push when I needed it most (Especially when I made the decision to leave Pfizer and join my current company Grünenthal Group for new and ATOMIC challenges) #Leadership is more than just leading a team; it’s about inspiring and nurturing those around you. Today, I am very thankful for Sole and all the great leaders I have met (I've been fortunate to have incredible bosses 🍀 ) . They have taught me that believing in someone can ignite a spark that changes not just careers, but lives. As I enjoy my summer vacation, I carry with me the lessons and gratitude for those who have helped shape my journey , and that have taught me to be and continue being a leader♥️ #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #LeadershipSkills #LeadershipTips #LeadershipMatters #Inspiration #InspirationalLeadership #InspireOthers #InspiringLeaders #InspirationDaily #Motivation #MotivationalLeadership #InspireToLead #LeadershipJourney #LeadAndInspire #pfizer #grunenthal #career #mentorship #mentor #pharma #pharmaceutical #omnichannel #digitalMarketing

What is most important? Having the highest market cap? Having the strongest sales growth? Or being the best place to work? If you asked a bunch of leaders which they preferred, you might get a few different answers or at least a few saying, “Why not all three?” And I would also say, all those metrics are important, but if I had to choose, I would go for best place to work. The foundation for sustainable success in business is built on a company’s culture and the engagement of its employees. Everything else, whether it’s innovation, outperforming competition, share price, growth, all of it is dependent on good people feeling good about going to work. After all, how can a company research and develop the most effective molecules, produce them efficiently, and market them to those in need better than its competitors, without having the most engaged employees across the value chain? Let me put it this way. I can imagine most colleagues wouldn’t know the daily fluctuations of our share price or our exact market share. But they will know at all times how they feel about the company and its future and if they’re positive, that can only benefit Novo Nordisk and our patients. That’s why I am proud today that we have once again been selected as the Best Place to Work in the World. It is just one ranking of course and these things are always debatable. But it is good to know that something I have believed for 31 years, that Novo Nordisk is a special place to work, has been validated by others from the outside looking in. A big thank you to all my colleagues who make our culture and “Novo Nordisk Way live each day through your passion and your dedication. This was yet another belated 100 year birthday present for our company! And to those of you who read this from outside Novo Nordisk: if you are talented at what you do, if you have a desire to make a real impact, and if you have a passion for patients and innovation, why not come work with us if the opportunity presents itself? Our doors are always open…

Another great NextGen session. My Key Takeaways from John’s Insights: 1. Set Clear Goals: When being asked to provide opinion, avoid saying “anything is fine.”Let your ideas be heard. 2. Embrace Variety: Don’t be afraid to try different things. Every effort you put in will eventually pay off. 3. Stay Humble: Humility is your best friend. It keeps you grounded and open to learning. My action plan: start to reflect and summarize my takeaways at workplace. #AmCham #NextGen #AmChamTaiwan

International Sales & Marketing Leader | FMCG | Health Care | Pharma | Medical Devices | Developing teams, brands and business with purpose | High achiever | Strategic thinker | Inclusive leader |
My first 100 days at Almirall- It is good to reflect on the importance of the first 100 days in a new job and/or in a new company, not only because it allows you to leave the past behind but also to learn as much as you can about the new job. Personally, it means I am back to my hometown, so the change has been big personally and professionally 🌟 I’ve just accomplished this milestone at Almirall and I would like to share some thoughts: 👇 👉 First days is about listening and asking the right questions, meet lots of people and go through the on-boarding plan. I am very thankful to the many people who supported me on this journey and I gave even more value to the face to face interactions, you learn much more about the person! 👉 Company culture is a very ethereal concept, culture is what people think and says about the company, at Almirall I learn about the cultural transformation that the company is going through, and it is real, you feel it in everyone I meet. 👉 For someone like me with an international passion it is a privilege to work in an international Head quarter in Barcelona, and keep the interactions with different markets and people to run the commercial strategy. 👉 It is incredible to see how much knowledge there is in each corner, passion and dedication. Competing with big pharmas make us to leverage in our strengths, being one of them agility, and I can tell you with my big Pharma mindset at Almirall Agility has another dimension. 😃 ❤️ Looking forward to contribute to transform patients’ world by helping them realize their hopes and dreams for a healthy life 👊 #newjob #Almirall #backhome
