Celebrating diversity is more important than ever. In her latest piece for Campaign US, Channing Martin, Global Chief Diversity and Social Impact Officer at Interpublic Group (IPG) shares why, and highlights the incredible IPG Inclusion Award winners including FCB London, FCB Canada and FCB Group India who each took home "Inclusion Campaign of the Year" in EMEA, North America, and APAC respectively, as well as FCB Chicago's DEI team who received the "Agency Inclusion Vanguard Award." Our latest article where David Aldrich who was nominated as a Top 10 - Champions Allies the Ethnicity Awards 2023 shares his insights on fostering diversity and inclusion from an investment perspective. His leadership and dedication to equity are truly inspiring!    David: "My primary role is as Managing Director, Commercial Group EMEA, overseeing Moody's Ratings' revenue and coverage across Europe, Middle East and Africa. I also find great joy as the Executive Sponsor for the Black Inclusion Group in EMEA, a Business Resource Group focused on supporting Black employees' recruitment, empowerment, and advancement, fostering a diverse and inclusive culture.   For me, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) means creating an environment that values everyone's contributions, with a workforce that feels valued, represented, and comes from diverse backgrounds and experiences.   My proudest achievement within Moody’s Inclusion initiatives is being welcomed as an ally as the Executive Sponsor for the Black Inclusion Group. This role allows me to function both as an ally and facilitator, drawing attention to the important work of the Group    I'm excited about three key initiatives of the Black Inclusion Group.    First is the Allyship business case, which emphasizes the role non-Black employees can play in promoting inclusivity.    Second, our partnership with the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT). The Black Inclusion Group nominated ACLT to receive a grant of USD22,500, supporting their work on donor shortage awareness.    And third, our sponsorship of Urban Synergy, where we raised £25,000 and participated in their mentoring program.   Three individuals who have significantly influenced my journey most recently, and there are many others, are Florence Henderson, AVP-Inclusion, EMEA, who has been a personal inspiration, and David Tim Njoroge and Ousmane Gassama, the Co-Chairs of the Black Inclusion Group. Their enthusiasm and support have been invaluable.   In terms of allyship, I believe it's about mindset. It's not a task to be completed, but a way of living where you constantly strive to be better. It's about making small, consistent actions every day to promote inclusivity, rather than grand gestures. It’s not about being famous, it’s about making an impact. I am very honoured to be recognized as inspiring role model on diversity and inclusion topics by #PwC. Each one of us has the power to make a difference in his family, workplace, neighborhood, city, country and even worldwide. It all starts with a decision. The decision to have a positive impact. The decision to give value. The decision to elevate others. My inclusion journey encompasses the amazing work we do at Graine d'Orateur 93 training French youth from less-favored areas on eloquence and rhetoric. Resolution of world challenges we are currently facing, namely global warming and economic situation, shouldn’t be reserved for a privileged few. Young people must understand high stakes and be involved in discussions. The future leaders of tomorrow we train at Graine d'Orateur 93 are hence able to contribute to public debate with an unshakable confidence in their ability to make world a better place.
