Congratulations to the WoW member company Axena Health for closing its new funding round! 🔥 Axena Health, Inc. is a medical device company focused on female pelvic health, and has closed on an additional $9.4 million in its Series A fundraising. Cross-Border Impact Ventures (CBIV) coinvested alongside existing investors AXA IM Alts through its Global Healthcare Private Equity Strategy, @KOFA Healthcare and Avestria Ventures. Donna Parr, managing director and partner at CBIV, is joining Axena Health’s board of directors as part of its investment. Proceeds from the fundraising will support Axena Health’s growth. In the United States, the company is focused on the continued commercial launch of its Leva® Pelvic Health System, an at-home treatment for urinary incontinence (UI) and chronic fecal incontinence (FI) in women. Novocuff Raises $26 Million in Series A Funding Round to Reduce Preterm Births Using a Novel Technology Novocuff, Inc., a medical device technology company focused on improving pregnancy outcomes and minimizing the risk of preterm birth, has secured a $26 million series A funding round to fuel growth and support its pivotal clinical trials in the US. The round was spearheaded by AXA Investment Managers via Global Healthcare Private Equity Strategy, supported by a significant investment from Laerdal Million Lives Fund. The round also featured remarkable participation from existing and new investors, such as RH Capital, Laborie, March of Dimes, and Avestria Ventures. Co-founded in 2021 by Amelia Degenkolb and Donald Lee, the company has received significant financial support since its launch with $2 million capital. #Femtech started gaining traction as a dedicated medtech theme about ten to fifteen years ago. Now many femtech products are reaching maturity in the form of clearances and substantial funding raises. I'm following Materna's pelvic health innovation journey with interest. Uterine prolapses, among other pelvic health problems, are associated with significant loss of quality of life - which impacts not only the sufferers but their immediate family and loved ones.
