Xavier (and any other HP experts) I’d love to discuss the lifespan of Air source HPs (domestic) versus capex for initial purchase, installation and required ancillary costs ( calorifiers/tanks, u floor heat installations plumbing/pipework) . Am I wrong in assuming that ASHP last 12 to 15 years and begin payback at about year 8 to 10, meaning only 2 to 5 years of free / low cost heating before major investment again required?
Introducing Part 2 of Xavier’s feature on Heating Your Home, which features in November’s West Cork People. This month he explores heat pumps – their benefits and what needs to be considered before going ahead. This series is all part of our work with the CHERIS project, with Ludgate Hub The Wheel, the purpose of which is to help West Cork homeowners make home energy upgrades, save money and contribute to a greener future. #cheris #retrofittiingireland
